This quote from TeamXbox made me laugh:

"Landing isn’t too difficult; just remember to put your gear down and slow it down to a reasonable speed."

As always landing gear will help!

yeah quite a few funny comments in there. This is the type of game where a game reviewer just wont do it justice, they expect Ace Comabt gameplay out of any flying game. He even brings up about plaing in 3rd person! who plays a flight game in 3rd person? just not done.

Well who knows...he might be a die hard fan of the original...that wont come across in the review though as most decent reviews write it for their demographic.

I imagine the overwhelming majority of reviews will take the same path as reason stated above. They'll be focusing on what they think the majority want and it will be more sim orientated readerships that will receive more sim focused reviews. However anyone with a remote interest in sims knows about Il2 and the name will sell itself to those people.

Once in a while I switch views. The planes are so pretty I can't help but look.

I thought it was a good assessment.

Most console players only play in 3rd person, and certainly don't know what to do when sim elements are thrown in. lol.

The whining I saw about Over G is evidence enough of that!

I can't remember the last time I played a console flight game that had spinning stalls. Oh wait.... this is the first!:-P

Definitely need a flightstick for sim mode; the thumbstick is too small.

Actually, I think it is.

With high power brushless motors and lipo batteries, many RC pilots run giant scale airplanes with electrics. Performance with electrics is equal to if not superior than nitro planes.

I think this is a kyosho FW190 with a 55" wingspan - it has split flaps, which I don't recall to many FW's in this size having.

I believe they make this plane in nitro and brushless configuration.

Hopefully there will be a stall recovery tutorial in the full game or y'all will nickname me "lawn dart"!

Actually, I'm crashing less now that i've turned my sensativity down to about 2/3 and started slowing my motions down a little.

Spot on mate, large lipo and brushless, just as a mater of interest here is a link link to Kyosho's web page: http://www.kyosho.com/eng/products/rc/detail.html?product_id=103650
