This is an idea for a Dwarven Unit. Please add comments and adjustments so this concept unit can become balanced. Starting out, I'm not going to suggest a Leadership requirement but would rather other members of the forums help determine what would be fair.

Defender (Dwarven)
Leadership: ???
Level: 4
Attack: 20 [Base Critical: Standard (10%)]
Defense: 30 [Physical Resist: 30%]
Initiative: 2
Speed: 2
Health: 180
Damage: 11-14 [Physical/Melee]

Traits:
Steel Armor (30% Physical Resist)
Grand Defense (Defensive Stance doubles defense)
Retaliation Mastery (150% Attack when Retaliating)

This unit would function much like the knight meaning it isn't very viable as a cumbersome melee unit without a haste spell or effect. However, this unit is NOT the knight in several critical aspects, the most minor being that it is Dwarven. More importantly, this class is ill equipped to seriously challenge dragons with no fire resist or bonus attack against them. However, this unit has an excellent defense rating as well as the Grand Defense ability, making it excellent for baiting enemies to waste their attacks against it while sitting in a protective defensive stance (a total of a ludicrous 60 Defense.) Should the enemy attempt a melee attack, they will be met with a stronger than usual counter-attack of 30 Attack Rating via the Retaliation Mastery trait.

Spells such as Divine Armor will make this unit very useful against all manner of attacks, not just physical. Stoneskin will enhance its defenses to an impressive level. Of course, Haste will be an essential spell in making sure it can reach important battle locations although Teleport could possibly fill that role as well.

This unit would mesh well with Priests due to its high HP and the difficulty enemies will have in lowering that HP. It would also do well with Dwarven Cannoneers as it could hold a choke point while the ranged units blast away at the enemy.

What do you think? Any changes need to be made? What should its leadership requirement be?
