Valkyrie / Rage not getting experience

I know this question has been asked before but I recently started an easy game and it's not letting me level the rage abilities.
So far I've collected 3 valkyries, almost cleared the 4 starter islands and yet my rage - experience doesn't built up.
I've not had a new ability screen pop up for different rages. Am I missing something? Did I forget to talk to someone?

To double check I've loaded an old game (back from 2012) and there the rage does get experience points (game on normal settings).
Is this a new bug? Am I overlooking something obvious that I did not in the first game? Is rage-experience "disabled" in the easy mode?

I was hoping for a clear answer other than "you need to collect a valkyrie first" since I already have 3 of those.

The only thing I can say is, that the rage-experience is enabled in the easy-mode.

I have no idea where the problem might be.

Some thoughts: Did you talk to the first valkyrie right after you found her on the second island? Did you get the wings for your mount from her? Did you find the piece of wood with the runes on it next to the place where you met the first valkyrie (temple of the sun)? Did you talk to the soothsayer and the chief of the vikings on the second island after getting your first valkyrie?

Maybe one of those actions is the trigger and you missed it. :-?

Thanks for the reply. Yeah as far as I can tell I did all those things apart from talking to her right away.
So I'm going to give that a try.

In the meantime I do have wings and finished all the quest mumbo jumbo on island 2 and 3 (otherwise the 2nd and 3rd valkyrie wouldn't have joined)

[update] well seems nothing changed, I do 35% of damage with rage but the experience stays at 0/15 (level 1). The conversation didnt mention anything about experience. I wonder if has to do with something I missed earlier. Come to think of it I also started an impossible game where the same thing is happening. No rage experience on the valkyrie abilities.
Sad to see it broken.

Actually I'm having the same problem, kinda. The Valkyrie Vortex wasn't giving me any rage xp at all on the first island and I'd kind of forgotten that it was supposed to. Then on the second island I got Christa and the money trap ability. I used it a couple of times in a battle and I leveled up twice afterwards. So the Valkyrie Vortex wasn't giving any rage xp at all. :-?

You don't get any experience for the amulet until you get your first valkyrie. It's not well explained, but you'll figure it out by observation. I repeat, you cannot level up viking vortex no matter how often you use, not until you get Christa.

You can, however, start working on the medal that awards troops killed by rage abilities. You have to finish off the stack with the rage ability it for it to count, btw, not just kill a few units in it.

Yeah I'm aware of the "need a valkyrie first" bit. But I can use rage (forgot the name but shoots flaming comets on 3 tiles) or the money trap as much as I want, the rage xp stays firmly dead at 0xp.

I got the medals for troops killed with rage though, but not getting better rage abilities kinda ruins it for me. On easy there's not that much need for it when you hit late game, but I hate that it's not working though.

Avi, make sure you don't have any mods installed. Check your sessions/mods folder inside of the WoTN folder and make sure it's clean, rage abilities were one of the things modded in the unofficial patches if you used those.

On an unrelated note, I wish we had a rage XP bar somewhere so we could see exactly what was happening!

As far as I know I got no mods installed. Should be a vanilla "steam" install (though it is the Valhalla edition) So I'm at a loss what to do now... Sadly there seems to be no developers reading this section.

The malfunctioning is giving me a big deal of hesitation to buy the new addon.

About the rage xp bar. isn't that visible after every battle if you enable the details? It would be nice to have it visible in normal world/map mode (outside battles)
