I have been playing my first game of Warrors of the North and can tell at this early stage on Impossible difficulty with the Soothsayer class it is not going to be hard enough to satisfy my lust for a decent challange!

Probably my best memories :grin: of the King's Bounty games was The Legend on Impossible difficulty where I had to find every bit of gold and be really careful on picking my fights to survive. I even created spreadsheets to compare my troops damage output to decide who to field in battle - it was delicious!

So there must be a MOD or someone who could cobble one together to tweak the impossible rating that is currently set at

Enemy Strength 170%
Gold after battle 50%
Battle Rage 70%

I would think enemy strength at 300% would be good place to start.

Could someone please create a MOD to achieve this!

So I set the impossible difficulty is the logic.txt file to

difficulty_k {
exp=0.5|1.0|1.30|5.0 // êîýô. ðàñòÿæåíèÿ òàáëèöû îïûòà ãåðîÿ
alead=0.5|1.0|1.30|7.0 // êîýô. ëèäåðñòâà âðàãà

Originally it was

difficulty_k {
exp=0.5|1.0|1.30|1.7 // êîýô. ðàñòÿæåíèÿ òàáëèöû îïûòà ãåðîÿ
alead=0.5|1.0|1.30|1.7 // êîýô. ëèäåðñòâà âðàãà

so this means the enemies that are controlled by this will be 700% stronger than normal and the experience you get is reduced by that 5.0 bit

So intitially it felt it wasn't doing much as most of the enemies where pretty easy (probably not affected by this change). But towards what I imagine to be the end of the first island I couldn't win the battles first go and was having to whittle away the enemy with battle after battle. Ah it was blissful as I realised I will actually have to plan very carefully to be able to win!

Anyway, I think the above setting is probably truely impossible so I now going to dial it down a bit and see if I get a nearly impossible difficulty setting!

maybe you get no replies because we are all very angry about playing a game with so many bugs and are not interested in this game anymore.
play no loss mage and i mean no loss at all (no loss at big spider and no loss at final battles). i've done this with all 3 classes at impossible. this should be great work for you.

I am now playing just with the 700% increase in enemies with experience increase standard to the impossible difficulty and at the moment it is satisfying me perfectly.

As far as bugs are concerned I haven't knowingly come across any yet (just about to get off the first island).

Thanks for the suggestion about 'no loss' but I am loving trying to do as much damaged before my army gets butchered. This means I am having to use different units and be careful about running out of gold.

They may well be some bugs but apart from the Gal Civ series I have never come across such deeply amusing writing. I look forward to doing the silly quests just to see what mad text I will end up reading next :).
