Hey guys,
I used to play Armored princess and absolutely love this type of gameplay. Too bad there aren't many others like it. I recently found out that Warriors of the North is out and was wondering what changes there are compared to the previous King's Bounty.
It looks pretty similar overall but I'm hoping they made some improvements as well.
One of the things that always bothered me was the excessive island exploration when you first start out just to pick up powerups. Then later when actually can fight on those islands, all the fun stuff has already been taking. Did they change that or is that still possible?

Still possible, and much much earlier even (since you get the flying horse very early on) ...
To be honest, the game is still fun, but not as good as the previous ones...
See one of the many topics made about the flaws of this one for details:

Thanks for the reply. With the updates it seems pretty decent though so I'm gonna give it a go. :)
With armored princess I had a pdf with all the units and their stats listed and such. Is there also something like that for WotN? Or a website with that information? Haven't been able to find it yet

It is certainly still worth playing...
As for your other question, it seems like you should be able to find what you are looking for here:

Awesome, that's exactly what I was looking for yeah.
Not many websites out there with WotN info, but the forum usually beats all. :)
Looks like I'm going mage with utility spells. Damage spells usually don't scale so well on hard, at least in the previous games.
Edit: By the way, is it possible to edit keybindings? And use perhaps the movement keys including strafing left and right (instead of turning)?

Movement keys = Yes (not sure about strafing), keybindings i have never tried...
As for direct damage, spells like Blizzard/Geyser are still worth it with max int, Destruction etc...
But utility spells are also good (things like fear, sheep, blind etc)
My Mage runs have mostly been a lot of ranged units (Inquisitors, Demonologists, Rune Mages, Archmages) and one tank (supported by summoned Demons from the Demonologists)... An opening salvo of 2x Blizzard (the last one on max strength) will weaken the enemy enough that your ranged units can mop up the rest, this has worked for me even on impossible...
