I wanted to finish the game, but it's just too buggy and a disappointment compared to the previous releases. I don't understand why a game that is essentially an expansion suddenly has so many issues that didn't exist in the same functionality of the previous games. Right not I can't get through 2 battles without having one of my stacks being suddenly wiped out while receiving what looks like 0 damage. This didn't happen a few weeks ago, so I think the so-called patches are actually making the game worse.
In addition, I think the game is poorly designed and written compared to the previous ones. Olaf is forced to act like a chump for much of the storyline. [SPOILER]. I got to the point where I fought the prince consort when he revealed his malicious intent (duh) and the last Valkyrie saved me to Arlania. Now this map is repopulated with lots of elf armies and I'm not interested - I already cleared this map once and want a new map to explore if there are going to be new battles. Probably if the bugs didn't exist I would continue on and just skip the non-essential battles as much as possible, but it's not worth is with the existing bugs.
If anyone has a save game from very close to the end, I'd be interested in getting it to just fight the last couple of battles. ... or maybe I'll just look for some cheat codes if they exist and walk through the remaining game.
