I ran into an unexpected strong Enemy Hero in Western Freedom Isle. It is the Hero called Glaumus Dazzling located in the castle in the mine. His stats are not that scary: Attack: 11, Defense: 9, Intellect:25, Mana 300; but his troops are scary: 18 Emerald Green Dragons, 41 Red Dragons, 14 Black Dragons! That's almost the Dragonslayer 3 Medal in one battle. I am only playing at Hard difficulty. This enemy hero was not that tough in my previous two games. Guess I was a bit unlucky in this game.

The problem is not to win the battle, but to win without any losses. There are no troops that can be kept alive in the end of the battle to do the normal resurrection. I gave it up for now and will try again when I am at the end of the game. It might work going in with a single stack of red dragons. I have very good resistance items, so I should not lose a dragon in the fight. I am a bit worried about his spell, though.

Any advice is appreciated.

yeah, fighting dragon army only and not loosing troops can be tricky, especially when boss dragon casts geyser and red dragons flame you. i like to keep dragon fight short otherwise it's almost impossible to resurrect everybody, as a mage i cast +3 initiative then a nuke then shooters, helps if you have -50% damage from dragons relic. by 2nd round clean the remaining dragons and rez.

Yes I find these fights much easier as a Soothsayer. With 70 Intellect and Death Star / Blizzard they don't last long. In this game, however, I am playing as a Viking...

One option is to use Turn Back Time, but I haven't seen it in 2.5 play-throughs, so I guess it is rare.

that's weird...i'm playing Soothsayer on Impossible + No loss...somehow that dragon had only 4 Black Dragons, 7 Green, 5 Red Dragon...I was level 28 at that time with int of 49.

It is, only found it once in about 3 playthroughs.

I managed to take them out as level 59 (only last two islands to go). I used red dragons, paladins, rune mages, and engineers (only 4 slots). My fifth stack is Giants, but in this fight they would not contribute much and had to sit this one out...

I started by casting slow (-3) on the green dragons, then I used the red dragons to attack. The black and red enemy dragons attacked my other troops but were killed. Being a Viking the Crit damage is incredible, my paladins finished off the black dragons in on strike. Even my red dragons killed a lot of enemy red dragons even if they have 80% fire resistance. When all the red and black dragons were down, the green enemy dragons could only attack my lava golem as my red dragons had moved away. I waited until I was sure to kill the remaining green dragons, then I healed my troops with the paladins and killed the last green dragons. I made sure to cast heal on my red dragons and prevented them from taking any losses.

Congrats on your victory! As viking, you best weapon against dragons is your Rage Skill. Namely the "viking spin" attack thing (with freeze), hilda (partial astral damage), and regina (pseudo tank to burn counterstrike).

But yeah, it is difficult to no loss dragons + hero with geyser. :(

Good job!
