View Full Version : How to defeat dark night (mage impossible)

So I'm trying a game on mage imposisble; I'm currently level 4 and I need to kill the dark knight to progress the game (open the barrier to eric). I do not beleive I can reach level 5 and as a mage my troop stack are relatively small. Any suggestions as to how to get over this hump? From my play through with warriro impossible this is the 'hardest' part of the game and things will progressively get easier going forward.

Anyway

start new game(look for items and the quantities of certain units u like)
(ussualy this means 3+ soothsayers

as for items +ldrship or +intellect to deal more damage

and then it depends on what u like
order 3 or rune magic 3

heal damages undead and can heal u 2 and u heal your wounded units too


however winter dance is area effect

other than that u need to get lucky with summon scrolls
e.a spells that help u out

mage imp. lvl. 60 going for no loss, 2 and half island to go.

Well as you know it’s all about luck, what spells you have access to and equipment makes huge difference. I’m pretty sure you can get to level 5 before confrontation with the dark knight and the necromancer afterwards.

I had nature call and heals both level 2 and whooping intelligence 12 (trinket +2 and something else +1) and got int. 2 altars, also got that that shield 100% defense for all vikings.

Nature calls to soak the damage from dk and go berserk with berserkers;), and cross the fingers the dude won’t cast something I won’t be able to recover from.

My army at the time was berserkers, ancient bears, snakes, soothsayers and axe throwers, lds approximately 690.

Yea on every fight so far he cassts poison pretty early and without resurection ....

Anyways I've moved on - i did him by letting him whip me then went back and finsihed him off :)
not very suitable for no-loss but effective I guess. My stats are no where close to yours and I'm not really interested in restarting till just the right items load.
