Hello,

I've not played KB since a week and want to take my last game save. The problem is, no rune mage seems to be sold after Guilford fight and fight after fight and leadership increase after leadership increase, I still have only 52 rune mages.
I read that I could use the old shoes in arlania in a quest, the thing is, I transformed it into crystal at the begninning of the story.
So my question is : will I have the ability to buy rune mage elsewhere in my adventure ?

Tx a lot for your help

The items/spells even units that are sold by vendors are completely RANDOM, there is no guarantee that you will be able to buy some rune mages later. In my first run I didn’t have maidens on the first 4 islands.

There are few vendors that selling humans after the *event*;), 3 in Greenland (2 if you killed baros), 1 on elven island and I think I saw somewhere later one or two.

However you can always increase them by using sacrifice spell.

I will soon be at the point where I lose access to the rune mages from Dr. Paraket, so I bought them all and moved them to the the castle on Eastern Island. I hope that works. It's a good thing I have rune mages because I'm playing as a soothsayer, approaching lvl 40 and the best area spell I've found so far is ice snake--aarg!

You could always use the Sacrifice spell to get more Rune Mages in some easy battle.

You could also use the console to give yourself the old shoes: name of the item would be 'old_boots', without the quotation marks.

I didn't know about the spell "Sacrifice", but it looks like something you could use.
In other cases their might be Rune Mages in the enemies army - With the Diplomacy Skill from the Mind-tree you could be able to get them to desert and join your army.

That is the only spell I refuse to use.

Sort of bizarre. Why?

Sort of bizarre. Why?

The first game of Kings Bounty I ever played I used (abused) it liberally and by the end I had the felling that I wasted my time--sacrifice was so powerful it made the game pointless. I can see someone playing no losses using it but I was never interested in attempting a no-loss game.

I agree that Sacrifice is kind of a game-breaker (especially since you can use it to resurrect Lv. 5 creatures and others which are normally unaffected by Resurrection such as Ents), but if the random generator gives you a bad deal in terms of creature availability I see no problem with using it.

If there is anything you should consider not using in WotN, it would be the Runemages themselves.
