Effect of New Patch

I have been continuing my game from before the new patch came out. I realize that some fixes will not be effective unless you restart the game. My question is, is it possible to finish the game without restarting, or should I start over?

I was in a similar situation was you. The game is beatable, but you might not be able to do some side quests without using the console.
