Hello, I'm lvl 44 and have fully cleared everything through the demon area. I'm now sitting with the evil eric standing in front of the caslte with 4 troops all invincible behind him. I have killed everything i can in arlania but i can't kill the mage rezo to progress the story any farther. I have a few quests that tell me to go to riftland but i have no idea how to get there, any help with what i need to do next would be great.

So a few questions have you defeated the undead that is inside the mage tower? If not that is your next thing you need to do then Rezo will send you too talk to the elves which then will take you too clear the beach so the elves can land their ships.

i've tried to clear the tower but my army is nowhere near strong enough to defeat the undead army that is there, there are 6-7 stacks of 700ish vamps and they just eat me. There is also a guy in that map, Lin Therien that is standing in front of a cave and there are 4 stacks behind him that are all even or slightley weaker, but he won't let me past him.

Unfortunately that is how you have to progress the story and it is one of the toughest fights in the game. Try different strategies or try some different units to try to get it done. I did the fight on impossible and I think I had to do it twice and the second time I came out out with about 40 griffins left over and that was it. Unfortunately its another very unbalanced mechanic of the game and obviously was not balanced properly before the game got released but you sound about the right level to be taking on that fight you just going to have to change of your strategy at this point.

I loved that fight, it was brutal, I lost maybe 70% of my troops, but that's exactly why I loved it, it was a tough fight. A fight which leaves me with all my troops presents no challenge as far as I am concerned.

Have you explored the Freedom Islands yet? Go to Greenwort, get a boat and see if you can sail there. It's a huge area with lots of experience to gain.

Ok thanks, i just beat it. managed to do it with only losing a few of most of my troops but i lost 60 paladins, is there anywhere to get more of them?

Paladins should be available at the Greenwort castle and/or barracks. And I strongly reccomend buying all of them while you can. Also buy any other units you need from those three shops - castle, barracks, temple - coz soon they'll close for the rest of the game. And yeah, don't leave any troops in the castle garrison of course. Just a fair warning I could've used myself :)

there are paladins also on the elves island. after completing a quest (don't remember the name) there is a blue tent and you can buy 3-4 different human troops.

But those aren't guaranteed, there weren't any in my game.

Basically asking other people where to pick up troops is a long shot cause every time you start a new game it randomizes 95 percent of the spawns of troops you can buy and most people have not played the game through enough times to know what exactly stays the same and what does not.

Typically though most people will carry some form of that race of troops on each play through very few will carry an absolutely completely different mob. For example if they had bowman and paladins first run same person may carry inquistors and swordsman next time staying with the humans and so with other races. So I usually remember spawns by what race of troops they carry on each play through cause it will usually be pretty similar.

Sure but Paladins are sort of a staple unit, most people use them most of the time so I mentioned them specifically. And it seems they are guaranteed at the Greenwort castle and/or Barracks but not anywhere else and since those two places are available only for a relatively short part of the game I recommend to buy them up all and store them at a safe place - probably Merlassar, viking islands or Freedom Islands.
