View Full Version : An applause to all the negative people that are still here!

A Sunday night thought before going to bed...
A Swedish artist once talked about the election on a radio show and said something like this:
"There are some people you have to admire, like the people with a lot of money that vote for the social democrats anyway. But they are not the people most worthy of our respect. Think of all the people that have lousy jobs and still vote for the conservatives. They have no money - but they want the ones that are rich to get some of theirs!"
So - there are quite a bunch of believers here that still hang around over a year after the rather disastrous release hoping for the Grail-patch every Friday. Well worthy of admiration, but think of the people that seems to have no hope in Maddox Games at all and seem to get annoyed by any kind of information - and they still hang in here! That's really something to applause! So lets all bow our heads in respect to the glass half empty people that after almost one and a half year are still here, axing all kind of news regarding CloD or the sequel they are all sure will be an utter failure! ;)

Nice gratuitous insult against a large part of the community. Against all the evidence we have hope, but hope alone doesn't do anything.
Instead, shall we tickle the tummies of the lapdogs amongst us whilst they roll over and lick the feet of the developers?

So the only artists that 'get it right' are Republican-supporting ones that make films about blowing people away with a .44 Magnum? There's a surprise ;)
And I didn't even know Clint was an artist - I haven't seen any of his paintings...
IMO the world would be a happier place if the artists were running things - granted the trains wouldn't run on time and the economy would tank, but we'd be happier...

The worst whining is the whining about whining. :)
No it's the whining about the whining about the whining because it's pure excess, people are entitled to have an oppinion about whining but it's pure hipocrisy to whine about how it infringes freedom of speech to whine about the whining.....so there, if you want to whine then be prepared to have someone whine about it and don't whine about it.
whining about whining about whining about whining is however perfectly justified because it is a perfectly valid oppinion about the hipocrisy involved in whining about whining about whining on the basis of free speech, it's all about balance, an even number on both sides, whining and whining about whining are a perfect balance, but whining about whining about whining becomes awkward and uneven....hence why this whine is absolutely necessary and justified.....if you whine about this whine then you are obviously just a troll hell bent on destroying the natural equilibrium.

Being able to use the ignore list is "indeed a joyful thing".
Anyone, that doesn't use the ignore list is missing out on something very special. Being able to turn off discussions of people you wouldn't waste the time of day to hear one sentence from their mouth at any time has got to be a "treat".
Use the ignore list, you'll probably have some better days.
It has other advantages as well. It is very annoying to attacker posters that direct their ill tempered ilk to you. It doesn't matter what they say or how they say it... your ignore list cuts them off. :-P

Why don't you and certain others get a room?
If Mods are so openly able/allowed to goad and prod for a reaction, what hope for the forum as a whole? The net effect? Gives a green light to the usual suspect to up the goading level and have a field day, with your blessing.
So back to the question - where does such behaviour get the forum as a whole? I suspect the answer may well be 'not very far'

Well - my point between the lines in my original post is that we are all very similar in our devotion to this game as we are all still here... Deep inside we actually all want it to succeed, even though we have different ways of expressing it ;)
Some of us are naive optimists that every Friday get surprised as we actually think a patch will be released, even though we deep down understand that it's very unlikely - and we know that there would still be tons of bugs left anyway - and new ones to squash...
Some of us see all in black and like to point finger at all the broken "promises", embarrassing bugs, missing features and smugly remark "what did I tell you!" when a patch does not double the FPS or make the radio commands work...
But in the end, all of us see the unpolished gem that is there inside of the spaghetti code - otherwise we would all have left a year ago...
