Need Help IL2 won't launch anymore

I download the latest beta patch v1.08 and did the following.

1) Delete everying in the documents cache folder
2) unzip the patch to il2-cliff of dover install directory
3) It overwrote the parts folder and files

Now when I start Il2 either from the icon or through steam I see the initial yellow/orange airplane with crosshairs but then nothing else happens, the game never launches. It does not show up in task manager either. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Disregard I found out that the issue was Winzip. Don't use Winzip to extract the files, use 7zip. Apparntly winzip skips some files when extracting.
