Hey everybody.
I am just wondering if there are some good tutorials for CloD out there??
Like how to use navigation, bombing, starting up aircraft. All high realism.

There's a spreadsheet floating around the SimHQ forums listing all the relevant engine and speed values for the flyable aircraft, such as speed limits, warmup and max temperatures, etc.

I'll definitely give this a go.

One more question tough. With realistic navigation....how do you orient yourself after an excruciating dogfight?

I personnaly take altitude, and try to recognize a particular point for example a part of landscape or forest or cities......and found it on the map. Although with some experience of flight it will be much more easier.:-P

Hi,
Personally, if needed, I would look at the magnetic compass, the yellow T marker points the north hence you know what's your orientation.
For British a/c you cannot directly read the degree value, but there's a trick, you you keep the two parallel lines pointed straight, then you have to mirror your reading, for example, the yellow T is at 0° you're heading toward north, if it's at 180 you're heading south, 90 for 270 and 270 for 90, eg pointing 300 heading 60, pointing 200 heading 160 so on.
With just very little practice, easy read of your act heading.
I've set keys to turn the gyroscopic heading indicator and tune it based on an accurate magnetic reading when I need to navigate for a while, then return the view a little back and right, and read the gyro through the hole in the cockpit sticker (hurri /spit).

It's how realistic I'd expect IL-2 COD

I really like all these new threads of how to play the sim right. Obvious indicator of the actual state of the game :-)
We are getting closer folks :D

V simple. Fly low and open the cockpit canopy, then scan the ground, looking for pretty girls.
If they wave at you, it's France. If they shoot at you, it's England.
