Check the controls, they might conflict. Mine is set to ctrl+tab.

If not able to set it, try disabling steam community.

Got it thanks . Wish i hadn't though , the black death track only getting framerates in the mid teens . Was hoping the new beta patch would make it playable with a mix of medeum and high settings. This after waiting a whole year after buying to fire the game up for the first time . Oh well i will have a play with settings and if i cant get it playable . As the song goes . Whats another year !!

Early on it was possible to display the ingame FPS automatically wthout having to enable the console by editing the root game folder rcu file and adding @fps START SHOW. For whatever reason(s) this no longer works....patch changes maybe??

There is an intro movie?
All I get is a 1C splash screen?

Need help here.

Don't know why, But now I can't see console text. Same for communication text and mensage text of the type "GEAR DOWN, etc." during game play.
Do you know where to enable it?

Thanks.

I have this in my RCU file so I only have to type "on" or "off" in the console.
This still works.

@set fast off
@set echo on
@set alias on
@set history 20

@alias a alias
@a h history
@a s show

@a on fps START SHOW
@a off fps STOP HIDE

Tanker21, why don't you use ATI tray tools seeing you have an ATI card. I use the EVGA precision tool (Nvidia support tool ) and it shows all on screen. The Tray tools I believe does a similar job for Radeon users. You can have it launch with the game.
Here's a link that may help you.

This still requires opening the console to display the frame rate as I read your post. Initially it was a mod who posted adding @fps START SHOW to display the frame rate immediately entering the game w/o having to open the console. The post was 2011 time frame as best I can remember but I haven't been able to find the post (search).

EDIT: Found it. Page 3 of the FAQ stickey, post by 335th GRAthos dated 7/23/2011 (about 5 posts down). Make sure to edit the rcu file IN THE DOCUMENTS IL2 STURMOVIK folder (which is what I didn't do as reason why it didn't work) and NOT the Steamapps\Common\IL2 folder and add @ fps START SHOW which will automatically display the frame rate on game start.

Same here?
What's the secret?

I could be totally wrong here, but I believe the reference to an intro movie is actually the ubisoft 'logo.wmv'.
This has previously been responsible for keeping ATI cards in 'first gear'!
