Thanks

My first thought would be your graphic card...but, put your system in your sig so its not a guessing game.:)

Cant see why my spec comes into question as it runs every final patch ok.

Not sure what you mean by changing the logo?

I had exactly this problem with a previous beta and it was due to using winrar to unzip the patch file for some reason. I reverted to the official version in steam and then unzipped the patch using winzip and installed - this fixed it before for me.

with every beta patch, i think there are at least a few guys, who extract the patch with the wrong software.....i think it would be adivsable for the devs to inlcude in the installation notes, which programs are recommended just like 7zip.

I used winrar I also made sure in the properties that it was unlocked. Shall I try winzip?

OK....

It is a clean instalation, I have tried using 7zip also but its still crashing on start up.
I seem to remember adding a line in the target shortcut for the exe....... does that ring any bells?

Here's what I did to install the new patch:

1) Go to Steam -> Games Library -> right click on Il2 CoD -> Properties -> Local Files -> verify integrity of game cache

2) Once CoD is back to official version load the game and load a single mission and spawn

3) Exit game, go to my documents -> 1c Soft -> CoD -> Cache, and clear the cache

4) Downloaded patch via torrent from Blacksix link

5) Unzipped patch using Winzip into folder on desktop

6) Go into the Patch folder, right click copy/paste bob folder and then core folder into ..\steamapps\common\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\parts. Merge folders and replace files.

7) Deleted the Ubisoft logo.wmv in parts/core/GUI

8.) Launch game

Not sure what you mean by changing the logo?

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\parts\core\GUI

Rename/remove the _logo.wmv in the above directory.

Also

Make sure you have the correct language patch.

Hi I downloaded two versions of the international patch

Im sure that before I found a post in which it said about adding something in the target field for the exe.

My head bloody hurts :-x

I used to get the exact same problem if I didn't right click on the Winzip file/properties/ and check "Unblock".

It should be unless you've already checked Unblock.

I don't know its a problem with COD. I use Winzip all the time and the only time I have a problem with it, is when I'm downloading beta patches for COD.

If I were you, I would start over, get Steam to "verify integrity of game cache" that will bring COD back to the last version, redownload the patch, Unblock Winzip, and extract it to your Cod install.

I seem to recall that some people were able to fix this by reinstalling the Net Framework from the redist folder.Or even updating the Net Framework.
