Now my game seems smooth enough to actually fly where can I find some good tutorials on things like take of and landing. Also, for things like combat maneuvers.

this really doenst answer your quetion, nut you should join a squad, one with a training program. Youtube as lots of tutorials too, for ACM, dont stick with CLOD videos, il2 1946 and ROF videos will do just fine.
for landign and take off avodi the ROF videos tough, il2 1946 will do.
again JOIN A SQUAD. there are lots of people willing to waste HOURs of their free time with you, and they will teach more than any youtube video.
http://www.youtube.com/user/Requiem10NS - this channel as LOTS of ACM in ROF... 90% will work in COD too, usually in a different less extreme way.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PwVwn1wxzM - go trough this guys videos too, its 1946 100% comaptibility with COD
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvinIuhblxs - google "landing in cliffs of dover", first entry.

@pupo162 - Are you in a squad? I think I might be a bit bad for a squad atm if I cannot even land. The last time I tried to take of in the Hurricane I killed myself before anyone got a chance to kill me because I didn't even make it into the air.

After 50 years worth of driving and listening about multiple combustion engine powered devices, my publicly given advice to YOU about flying an Emil is to use Your EAR. I'm not kidding. All one has to do is to move throttle and pitch in such way so the sound of DB 605 is the same. By the same I mean You go with brand new bike 90 clicks per h on fifth gear and observe how it trashes and howling and then try to get the same feeling on the end of the 1st, 2nd and so on...end of THE joke...
angle of attack/stall/propeller pitch/trim/approach/thrust/flaps/flying dirty/flying clean/flare/
all the above with connection to airplane on YT...after first landing in one piece - shooting. But wait there is a school it is called http://www.joint-ops.com/php2/index.php...register, finish basic program flying on older version of IL2 and U'll be changed MAN.

I think I might be a bit bad for a squad atm if I cannot even land.I don't buy that.
You can teach someone how to be a good pilot. You can't teach someone how to be an enjoyable presence online. Any squad worth your time won't care if you suck; they'll only care if you are a decent guy.
Find a group of people you enjoy hanging out with online, and then ask to join their squad/ask them if they want to start a squad with you.

Learning to take off and land: Videos and tutorials are all over the internet for this, and it's a good idea to watch some youtube videos.
Learning BFM/ACM: There's really no substitute for getting shot down a lot, reviewing your performances, and learning a lesson each time.
However with that said, there are some good guides worth reading.
You should do some research and learn some basic concepts that will help you develop a good mental state for learning to be a fighter pilot. Depending on your experience level, some of these might be very simple to you, but if you are comfortable with all of them you will be able to learn more easily when you get shot down or when you have a successful dogfight.
-relationship between energy, airspeed, altitude: what is it?
-air to air gunnery theory: convergence, bullet physics, learning how to gauge angle-off and range to target, etc.
-Energy Tactics vs Angles Tactics, which is superior? (hint: neither)
And most importantly: Ask specific questions! "How (and when) do I fly a rolling scissors?" etc. Lots of really experienced guys are flying this game, you'd be silly not to use them as a resource!
Good luck!

The best thing to learn IMHO is to get onto teamspeak with other players and just put the hours in...... Practice makes perfect.... And have fun

I'd like to say..... It's genuinely nice to see forum threads on the site now regarding questions about the game instead of bickering.... What a difference a day makes ... ~S~
Found this in the mission building forum. Haven't looked at it yet. I would like the find (if it's even possible to do) takeoff and landing training missions like are used with the TigerMoth. The "gates" you fly thru are most helpful. I'd like to see it done with all the flyables.

joinign a squad as nothing into it, jsut try and find someone flying online with a tag "E69_Pupo", and ask them if they are recruiting. Alternatively just do what i did, get into the most populated server and shout "IM A NOOB, lookign for a squad, anyone interested?" - i got bombarded with PM's and in a squad the same day.
PotNoodles.
Yes im on a squad http://www.escuadron69.net, its a spanish speacking community. if you are a spanish speaker feel free to join, if not, its a tad bit harder, not becouse i dont want you there, but because many members dont speak english.
when i started flyign and joined a squad in the first place i couldnt tell a hurricane from a truck, so you aree already better than me.
Finally, if you are afraid to jojn a squad because you cant take off, i wil lteach you that privately in a hour or two, had me on steam under E69_pupo, after you are done with that i will redirect you to a squad of your interest.
