So everyone goes on vacation at the same time now? No, it's plain and simple why nobody's posting, it's because people have ran out of things to say. We have talked about everything there is to talk about. We have seen people's videos, pics and even talked about how sunny it is outside. I myself am just waiting for the game to be fixed so that I can enjoy playing it and until then there isn't a great deal to say now.

Considering 1C/Maddox's history with 'stolen' patches with the old IL2 franchise I hope they are careful. Heck, wasn't there even a story not long before CoD's release where Oleg's home PC was infiltrated where someone tried to get CoD's source code?

It definitely makes the waiting more calming. The WarThunder SimHq forums are very quite, everyone who's interested in the sim must be beta testing and under a NDA as there is very little praising or whinging happening there. ;) I had hopes for that sim, but the latest video still shows the BOB map only incompassing the Manston/Folkstone area. Its quite useless for not much more than airstart furballs.

What is there to talk about? Lots of people complained about the last patch and and what it did to the tree Lod etc, but in 3 weeks we have had no response to people's concerns. I think everyone is waiting for an update on the situation before saying anything else, but maybe they really have become fed up of the whole situation because I know I have. I don't think everyone has a vacation at the same time so that isn't the reason for it been dead in here, and I don't think it's anything to do with the sunshine because many people are playing other games.

Chivas
07-18-2012, 07:23 PM
How dead the forums are now has little if any effect on the future of COD, If the game engine is finished and working, everything will start fresh from that point.

philip.ed
07-18-2012, 08:12 PM
Chivas you're right to an extent. But the lack of interest highlights that people have moved on from CloD and, clearly, haven't seen much reason to come back.
Perhaps positive change will bring them back, but if they can live without the game they may see no need to go through further trouble to squeeze the most out of it. I think that's the bottom line: if they are happy not playing it, they may see no reason to go back; especially if the only real change manifests as the next sequel. BoB lovers still aren't happy.

As an offliner it will take a miracle to make me want to upgrade to play this game as much as I am playing BoB2 right now.

It sounds depressing, but it's the truth. I personally don't really care any more either. I just come here to see if there is anything new as I want this game to succeed.

Just release the blasted SDK and let the community sort this game out.

Other games have taken my prime time...hell...I haven't even logged into the game for over 3 to 4 weeks...and probably won't until it is fixed proper.

But, to take my time up, I have DCS CA (new release), BF3 off and on, Mechwarrior online will be out soon as well (looking forward to that as I played it many years ago and enjoyed it a lot). Mostly just chillin out at home other than that and enjoying my holidays.

If the game engine is fixed the WW2 aircombat community will come back as there is no other alternative atleast at the moment, and I don't see anything in the future that can even compete with IL-2 1946. You cannot take away all what has been said about the game by the Devs, and it's here when expectations are not met that questions get raised in the first place. All I can say is, you shouldn't inadvertently raise questions about the game if you don't want to be in a position to start a debate.

What do you like? The game? Most certainly not, giving the stance displayed in the forum. The community here? Can't be either, given how much this behaviour gets onto the nerves of those that simply realize that things are as they are and the devs are trying to sort it out. Yes, there are people who fight for what they like. And I have the biggest respect for those people, those that gather material, organize bug trackers, write mails to the Dev team construcivly outlining the problems and proposing solutions, digging themselves into the script language of the mission builder to get the best out of it even without official documentation, those kinda people.

And then we have little crying children sitting in their chairs at home doing nothing but typing, who use every other thread to spam their message "but the deveopers promised....D:!!!!" "I demand......!", "I am entitled to because I paid "money....!", writing in a style as if the Devs are sipping Margheritas laughing about all the folks they obviously ripped intentionally off.
Not to speak about the extra kicks they give to the guy almost knocked out on the ground already.

That was understandable in the very beginning, but now, over a year after release, it's just pathethic.

I fully agree to your point of view. But do you you know what else is "just pathethic" over a year after the release ? ;)

Nope, I do not, but enlighten me. What else is?

I would consider myself all grown up because I am willing to look at both sides without using silly little words like "Whiners" etc. Nobody forces you to read what you don't like in here and there is an easy option called the "ignore function." But if you cannot resist reading a thread where the title clearly says "Whats going on" that's your fault nobody else's.

Yes, I am forced to read what I do not like. Because I only know what is written there "after" I read it. And especially when the subject matter at hand tends to come up in every other thread. Believe me, I tried my hardest to "ignore" it and look the other way over the last half a year. But you guys make it simply impossible.

A thread titled "What is going on?" can mean everything and nothing. Why don't you guys just make an official complainers thread where you can write in what you dislike all day long, with everybody else fully ware not to enter there? That would be progress.

If your only proposal to that is to use the "ignore" function, an honor only Furbs got so far, then you can have that. If that is what you really want.

Yes best to slap me on your ignore if you are not open to debate from both sides, it will save me doing it to you.

Ok, full stop. Are you aware of the size of the dev team? Are you ware of the funding sitation at 1c? Are you aware of the problems that arouse with so many of the old programmers leaving the dev team, including the old master himself?

Given all the infos we got here about the state of the development team and the problems they have to overcome currently, you complain that things do not work propperly? Seriously?

We are back to square one.

There are people that debate on ideological grounds. What they should have gotten, what should have been, how the game should have released and so on, completly ignoring any real impact on such principles. Lots of "shoulds" and "ifs" and most of all "I"s.
It's their ideal world populated by 100 percent funtioning robots where nothing ever goes wrong and payment grants you the perfect product you will be happy with ever after.

And there are people debating based on reality, taking events and impacts outside the planning into account.

If this was Silent Hunter V, where the product was even buggier then CoD when it arrived and the whole development got abandonded after three meager patches, then yes, I would undertstand your stance.

But even THAT community stopped complaining after 2 or 3 months and simply started to break up the software and got on with modding.

I did already enlight him.......

All you did was showing me some crash report, stuff I got myself before I worked a bit on my system.

What you could start with is opening a thread, giving your system specs and then we could try to figure it out. Because performance wise the game runs quite fine now, most problems stem from software conflicts.

Yes best to slap me on your ignore if you are not open to debate from both sides, it will save me doing it to you.

wish granted

It's my second computer during the last years. But this new one faces the same old problems like the old one. Thought it will be gone after bying this rig.
I guess you can't blame my computer for this mess.

But i have also to admit that i don't use alpha or beta patches. Don't like to experiment with my installation.

Here are my specs anyway: i7 2700k @ 3.5GHz
8gig Ram
Nvidia GTX 580 1524mb ram
Win 7 Home Premium 64bit

Should be a fine rig for modern games i guess......

I have a GTX570, works no problem. Using the beta patch for CoD, however, would be a first step in getting to fly right now.

I had GTX580 1.5GB cards and changed to GTX580 3GB cards and all my stutters disappeared with everything on maximum settings even in earlier patches.

The problem is the game still uses 1.8-2GB video Ram with the tuning of the textures they've done with everything on maximum so the card has to swap textures to system memory and back again. It used to use close to 2.5GB in earlier patches. Most people that are complaining of stutters now are just plain trying to run the game at too higher setting for the video ram in their cards.

If you can you should run MSI afterburner and check you Vram usage and turn game features off until you get under 1.5GB vram usage. The biggest change will be trees, buildings and changing from original textures.

GTX 580 3gb?? Have you got a nuclear powerplant in your pc?? lol ;) ... With those cards, you MUST, run everything at very high or else you are a sinner. :-P

I do just about have a reactor in there ;) 2 x 1500W PSU's and the system can peak at 2.5KW under full load in a game.

Yes I run everything maxed out and have zero problems with game stability and butter smooth. Because SLI doesnt work im only using 1 card at normal 1920x1080 res. Occasionally I run the game in surround @ 6048x1080 and thats the only time SLI actually works properly across all 4 cards and it works smoothly too but I have to turn a couple features down to keep FPS above 30.
