Anybody Elses game Completely Porked After Last Beta Patch ?

Just back from holidays and curious to try new beta patch .Slideshow!Have tried everything to get back to the quite playable previous beta level to no avail.Even a slide show at 1024x768 and minimum settings .Have done the Steam 'refresh' ,update of dot NET and DX etc etc ...The game was in limbo/on hold for me what with being good as unplayable online ,this ,that and the other feature isnt working 'yet' etc etc but I fear I could be giving up on it soon :-( Have been playing IL2 since 2004 -looks like I may still be playing it in 2014 ...CLOD hasnt provided 1% of the enjoyment Il2 has ...sad...

Because Ive read pages and pages of posts and searched and can find no solution.I cant even fly a Tiger Moth on its own .

When you started this thread - you did a search on the forum even more difficult. There are many other threads that can be used for minor issues.

Apart from launcher crashes when i create another aircraft i can still enjoy the game

Like always there progresses and there are some steps backward. The problems with the trees are such a step for me. Otherwise I am happy with the last Alpha or Beta patch 1.07. The Hurricane not starting is another new problem’s but there are many corrections I should mention like the Spitfire throttle and the clouds that work at some distances now. All in all the game goes forward but little by little and with every time a step it seems backwards but it is only a technical glitch.
I like this game and am ready to buy the next opus.

Restore the original game then install (with "steam" check game intergrity) the patch you wanth 1.05 or 1.06 it worked for me.

You can goto whatever patch version you want...uninstall, reinstall to last steam patch or install any beta?

Sometimes, quite rarely but it does happen, hardware just dies.

Can you now play anything else on it?

No problems playing other modern games ,its not hardware failure related .

I decided to take a ZEN aproach to this game.
1) This sim has a GREAT POTENTIAL
2) You have not another modern WW2 sim (of course you always have the beloved il-2:1946)
3) These are ALPHA and BETA patches, by definition it´s always have bugs, in other way they will be OFFICIAL patches.

If we accept these 3 premises, maybe we will be more calms and we could wait to the official patch. If the official patch will be fully bugged, then we can go and burn the Luthier´s office.

Yeah......mines porked mate,just constant launcher crashes,have resorted to the last official update but now my online play is comprimised...........without that I'm really not interested,so I'm having a break from it all.

Trouble is Ive never been able to get started to 'have a break'...ordered the Collectors Edition and then via Steam (over 100 euro there in total)because couldnt wait to play on release day ...well over a year on and Im still waiting ...Up to now was lucky if I could mess around for 15 minutes with it offline after the alpha patch -now I cant do ANYTHING with it -even worse stutters than original release .Have tried everything .Maybe someone could post a conf for a mid range PC -mine is E8600 at 4.3GHz and GTX295/3GB Ram -I WAS running a 2500K /5970 /8GB and it was no better !This official patch cant come fast enough!

So you downloaded the game freshly from steam and then applied the beta patch, yes?
Your computer also has the latest drivers, microsoft net framework 4.0 and direct X runtimes?

What settings do you use? SSOA deactivated? Epilespy filter off?

Did you check your Nvidia panel settings for this game? Maybe something is off in there?

For what it's worth, the game has been running on my PC very well for the last couple patches, even before on my old computer as long as I had shadows deactivated. Should not be a hardware problem, but a software conflict could be the cause.

Remove the .ini files and let it recreate. You'll have to configure your settings but that worked for me.

Also, don't forget about the cache folder.

Not completely,

Spit IIa has better speed now, can just about tangle with 109 on even footing at mid-high alts, frame rates are great but;

anytime an enemy (non AI) plane is on my screen and close, or clouds are close?

Massive stutters, 0-2 fps makes it unplayable. Shame, will wait for next patch.
