So many times there is a drop of fps or any kind of bug into the game ! Just can't play.

Personally my system has never had a problem playing the sim other than known game play issues. That said "Everyone" is aware there are problem especially for mid range systems. Nobody is more aware of these problems than the developer themselves, who are have been in the process for years trying to gain every fps possible. Not that long before release the developers were getting 1 fps, so they have made progress, but will they continue to make progress is anyones guess. Nevermind all the game play issues that need to be addressed.

The problem is HARDWARE.
I have steadily upgraded my system, and as I have done so, the problems disappear one by one.
This sim is years ahead of anything else. Most of us are years behind.
The devs have reduced the specs to achieve compatibility with low/medium range hardware.
HARDWARE.

Maybe they should've made some sticker for the packaging: can't run on gameboy, gameboy color, gameboy dx or similar.
When IL-2 came out I couldn't run it at all. With the right hardware this game can be played and looks stunning. Upgrade - you'll not regret it.
DCS and RoF games run equally on my machine but look crap. Aside from obvious crashes and bugs I don't get what you guys are picking at really...

No they have to go on fix the game code, what's wrong with fixing the game ?
It's not been out yesterday !
That's just a mess. I'm starting to be so disapointed with CoD, I just pray they finish it one day.
Too many areas of th game, not only performance. Further i'm not running lower hand computer, it runs many recent games very decently.
It's unbelievable such a situation.
Unbelievable.
And moreover, it's so much promizing game, it's just not far from being one of the best sim, it just does'nt work yet, and this is a more than 12 months old "yet".
Blacksix ? Ilya ? Please do stabilize the game in all its parts, the graphic engine, the airplanes performance, it's just not fair to have it like that today.
My teamates and I we're trying to get the team fight on coms, just can't concentrate on flying ! Just can't do it.

DCS and RoF are working and looking fabulous on my rig, no probs on fps, ctd's, sounds, trees, radio comms, weapons, stutters etc...not at all.But with Clod i have them all, so it can't be "only" the hardware imho.
Or perhaps i don't realise my rig is completely outdated

It's Nvidia 560 1 GB, system RAM 6 GB, 4 core AMD Phenom, Windows 7.
I'm not taking about the graphic performance issue. About all of the unfinished things. Can't resume in one aspect.

Without a doubt there are current issues that even the best rig cannot fix, but unless people put their specs in their sigs its impossible to tell if it is a problem with specs or not.
It takes 30 seconds to do, and might help some people.

I guess it's subjective. To me DCS doesn't even look nearly as good as CloD. You're usually flying at MUCH higher alt's though - maybe that affects it? Your GPU looks outdated to me indeed though.
That aside, what I wanted to say earlier: there is a difference between performance and bugs.
While bugs are certainly an issue I agree with I think performance is not. With todays hardware progresson this whole ordeal will be laughed at from a later perspective - but game breaking bugs are surely something that needs to be fixed.
That said I don't have problems running the game performance wise.

Well, here in Poland it's very hard to get a high-end PC. Most of our players have mid-range ones. You on the west don't know how tricky it is for us to get uorselves a good PC. It costs us a month salary in average. In Russia it's even worse. My computer was bought half a year ago and is a mid one. And I get about 20FPS at 2000+m, 60FPS at about 4000+ and 5 at <2000. It's annoying.

I honestly have upgraded once, I came from Nvidia 260 and 4 GB RAM.
I stop with this game, it's running 60+ fps in some conditions then goes from that much to 1 fps.
Too much things wrong appart from that, I do fly it too, but everytime, my concentration goes down because of one bug or another, no matter what, it cannot be immersive like it should be.
Still can play the small maps like island ones. But it's like using 1% of this sim.

hmmm, not sure i agree with this.
I've an i7 overclocked, a GTX580 overclocked and while I can play it fine, there are still many bugs that make it a less than satisfying experience for me still. with every beta i try it, yet to be blown away.
trees, clouds, hit effects, smoke, dm's, fm's, the Clod shuffle, lack of aa...........
I'll keep trying the updates, but no one in my squad is playing it anymore, myself included.
everyone plays HSFX6, Rof or DCS.
One day though, it hopefully will be a one hell of a game.
The fact that we have had a number of beta patches indicates that the devs are conscious that it requires improvement, didn't fullfil anyones expectations and so work continues. I fully expect it to take a while to get right but in the meantime I will enjoy and appreciate the aspects of the game that leave the others behind.
For sure there are also some frustrating aspects but it is playable, for me anyway. I still like the occaisional sortie in IL1946 - a great sim and CloD will be as well so hang in there.
That leaves others behind?

... 100% agree, I also dont have outdated hardware, I can play the latest games without any problems, just CloD wont run as it should. Warping and disappearing planes etc., etc., etc., ... the list of issues is endless and more than one year after release, these issues have not been fixed, no matter how many beta patches have been released since. This cuts the fun of flying this sim down to zero for me.
I fear your desperate call is like talking to the wind. I´d recommend you play other games while waiting until this one gets fixed one day.

I don't see much improvement with the new grafics engine on my system. And the old one looks better, too. To me it seems a waste of precious developer resources, that should better have been put into fixing more gameplay issues.
At least they have implemented some goodies in that regard. Namely F-16 barrel roll gone, JU-88 gyro and vector to target and homeplate radio command working somehow. Is the mp CTD fixed now? As I don't fly multiplayer atm (no coop gui) I can't tell.
On any account it is not much for the 9 months it took the devs to do it.

I would just like to ask a question regarding the new graphics engine. I remember it was said in one of the friday updates that it was going to be over or around 1gb in size, but when we did get the beta patch it was only 250 or so MB. But it seems people are still having the same problems that the re-write was supposed to fix are still being experienced. Any idea's why the re-write was alot smaller than initially suggested? or is it 1GB across multiple patches?
Dont get me wrong, it works great for me and im quite happy with it, even on my old pc it did as well (except the tree's, but that doesnt bother me). Im only asking this out of pure curiosity, and also as alot of ppl seem to be mentioning it lately (the new re-write).

To think that the devs aren't aware of the issues that CLoD has is silly, to be honest, as is people's tendencies to get their knickers in a twist because of it. Then again, that's MY opinion on the case :)
While I patiently wait for CLoD to become better, I'm over in DCS' KA-50. You want a learningcurve that's absolutely vicious and flying that's completely unforgiving? The Black Shark will give you that, and more.

The size of the patch is largely irrelevant. As the rewrite is the engine, not the textures and models, there is not going to be a massive size to them. The largest part of the update is probably sounds files and images. The engine itself does not include all the images and models, so doesn't need to be multiple GBs large.

I've seen an Ilya comment in the bugtrack saying that one of the issue would not be dealt with (don't remember which one) but we could imagine that it was because the pilot would be drunk or something like that ....
That's not serious job, sorry.
They made things worse that it was with the FM of Spit II.
In my opinion, what they need to do now is take rest, then wake up and get things seriously dealt with.
You may forgot it's more than a year old software now.
I know very nicely designed aircrafts which were designed is less than CoD since it's out.

By the way if you're answering then don't get me wrong, I really love CoD as it is supposed to be ... and I'll be an active fan & pilot, I just want to be sure that they do work & finish it, soon or later, sooner the better.

I was comparing to other WW2 combat titles which is the only period I am interested in. IL946 is a great SIM, particularly for SP fans and scores 10 out of 10 but I personally don't like the MP set up and different versions of the game required, mod packs, etc. The cockpits look very dated in comparison to CloD but I like them both for what they are excellent at.

I've got low fps -> You must upgrade your hardware!
I've got new hardware but still stutters due to tree -> Obviously, you have to turn off the tree!
I've got new hardware, turn off the tree but clouds cause drop in fps -> But it is ok, it is a flight sim, nor a console game!
IMHO they are excuses. I think that Clod community is still alive becouse we all remember the great works that Maddox did with IL-2 during the last 10 years. If IL-2 was produced by "XYZ software", maybe it would be ignored.

Ok, that's the PC-12, it's more powerful, up to 1200 hp on take off, 1000 hp continuous.
It's running about 260 ktas (~500 km/h ~300 mph TAS) at 15'000 ft, very good performance. About 1500 minles range.
I actually fly STMA (http://www.shadetreemicro.com/)(Short Tree Micro Aviation)'s aircrafts, they do have a superbly designed DHC-3, owesome work.
