Blacksix - I was just wondering why the Grass/Trees/Clouds still don't appear to be fixed when over 6 weeks ago you said that they would only take 3 days each to be fixed? I am just wondering what made you say this and what changed to make this not possible? Thankyou!!

2) release of patches for the troubled project, which means the contents of the command is usually only possible through the advance allocation of money for new development. In fact, correcting the previous project "eaten through" money allocated to the next. There is next - it means there will be no patches for the previous one, bye.

Given the above, the decision to finish the first full release of the past usually means instant death.

Also, all of the above applies to the gaming industry in general and do not necessarily reflect the situation within 1C.

Perhaps the above from BS might explain what level of 'fixes' this gets.

Though i agree with the question Noodles, it's Luthier is should be asked of, B6 is just the messenger.

Chance of getting a answer from Luthier = 0.000001%

Chance of being told your not allowed to ask the question and your wrong = 100%

that usually applies to big developers/publishers and even for them, mostly for standalone games.

when it comes about game series, even the big developers/publishers have problems if the previous game from the series is not made/working right, as it would reflect in the sales of the next title. two (maximum three for a very very big developer/publisher and a largely successful series) bad in a row, and the series is dead.

small publishers don't have this luxury, and one failure is enough to stop the cash flow mechanism for them. that's why they are putting out more solid releases and that's why they are offering continuous support for them way after their product's launch.

I'm afraid that for MG (as small developers, half-heatedly backed up by a not so major & wealthy publisher, and aiming at a niche market), not having CoD working equals end of the cash flow, as the next title will fall down in flames right from the start.

I am afraid you might be right there mate, wil CLoD end with 'EPIC FAIL'???

let's be honest and say that many things are already where they should be, or very close in anyway.

CoD can not be an epic fail, but failure is a real danger nevertheless :(

COD/BOM, will succeed it just needs more time!

mate, of course we all know what it needs: more time/more funds/better programmers

problem is.. they are not getting anything else than what they do have at this moment, at least until BoM is launched.. and that's where the danger of failure resides..

But how long is more time, they have had 6 (or 7) years in developement and a further 16 months 'bug fixing'?

People are turning away now, and with absolutally nothing on the horizon in the way of a workable fix (as said in other posts 'one step forward three steps back..') the situation will only deteriorate.

Turning features off and saying 'taadaa, temp fix' isn't fooling people and the sooned Luthior and other dev's admit that the better

I have said before and I will again, I really do want CLoD to work as I love it, but there is absolutally no hope of me (or many others) paying more good money to follow bad on a sequal/expansion until what we have is seen to work properly (Channel map coop's etc)

I am not sure if I can agree with that.

As far as i know, development took only 3-4 years so far. At some point, they startet to rewrite the engine again. Don´t ask me why.
But you are right with the point that the ressources for MG aren´t big (1C is hughe, but MG is under pressure).

About the people: With the latest patch, I can see much more activity on the German Ubi-Forum, so people keep watching the forums and obviously return if something happens. I guess if BoM is released in a good condition, bug-free, and with a stable performance, the community will grow rapidly...

About the "Turning-off-features": those are BETA-Patches. So theire purpose is to test, not to fix the game... I would wait for the next steam-patch before saying they turne off features.

I know the question should be directed at Luthier furbs, but the chances of him answering any questions is nil. He did say in one post that he was running about like his hair was on fire trying to fix this game, so I didn't want to stoke the fire by asking him to type here. I am hoping B6 can extinguish Luthiers hair for one moment and ask him where these fixes are..I mean, it's been 7 weeks and they are still not fixed.

I think CLOD is 1C's 'Windows Vista' ; as much as I want it to be fixed and be what il2 1946 (and all its earlier guises) was like in the way it captivated me (and still does), it just looks like we're losing more things from it with every 'fix', of course it runs better everytime you turn something off, but its not exactly what we all had in mind. So many features are worse than il2, or simply not there/removed - dont get me wrong I'm hanging in there hoping they'll pull that masterstroke, but bloody hell, expectation is starting to wear a bit thin.
