DirectX update => crash

Hi,
Using Windows 7, I tried to download DX 11 and make an update, was'nt sure which version was installed, and now IL-2 refuses to start, it crashes the launcher seconds after start ...

I have other games running fine, is this an issue with IL-2 & DX of the last patch ?

did a fresh install yesterday and happenned the same... game was crashing again and again even after reinstalling DirectX, Netframework and so...
Test a dxdiag and saw that acceleration was not taken in count so did a reinstall of WHQL graphic card driver and the game reappeared !

You shouldn't need to "update" DX11 for Win 7, only for Vista. There have been no updates to DX since the June 2010 SDK.

This is lastest DX runtime you should be using.

I'd also get Steam to Validate the CloD files too.

And as Stirwenn stated, make sure you've updated your graphic card drivers. If you've got an AMD card get the 12.6Beta drivers, the 12.5 drivers caused BSODs.

You are doing something wrong, DX11 should not need updating and if it did it would be through the windows update system. However you may mean your graphics drivers. This is where you now reply and list your hardware specs etc...

Refreshed dx11, graphic drivers, game itself, still crashes.
I recently installed MS Visual C which also installed the .net which some posts talk about.

I can't have the game working now, it's crashing on start with following message :

Dear CoD team,

I hope you'll be able to patch the game very soon for the graphic issue I have, which seem related to DirectX.
Also the patch hgihly expected for all the forthcoming online campaings, please haev the game finally finished & polished so we can concentrate on flying rather than on anything else.

This tells me it wasn't DirectX to begin with.

When you installed CoD, the installer should have already asked you if you wanted to update to .NET 4.0

Did you cancel that process?

I do not think it did. but I'm happy it's solved.
