Guys,

How it comes that issues like

"In-game Communications System Inoperative (http://www.il2bugtracker.com/issues/9)",
"Artificial Intelligence - Revision (http://www.il2bugtracker.com/issues/280)",
"If a player enters a gunner position, gunner's control will not return to AI when the player leaves (http://www.il2bugtracker.com/issues/77)"
"Pause AI takeoff till player's aircraft is warmed up (http://www.il2bugtracker.com/issues/194)"
"AI pilot should react to plane being hit (http://www.il2bugtracker.com/issues/282)"
"no AI bombing (http://www.il2bugtracker.com/issues/334)"

have only 20 something votes, or even less?!!

are you aware that actually these 2 systems, Radio Comms and AI are the greatest downfalls of the IL2CoD game, because they are completely destroying the singleplayer/offline game mode (and over 95% of the players who bought this game and are eventually expected to still buy the IL2BoM sequel, are casual offline players, for which the game simply does not exists atm)?!! and because they are greatly damaging the multiplayer too (by destroying the quality of mixed players + AIs scenarios which are the only way to obtain the great numbers of airplanes in the air in order to simulate a real air-war)?!!

these issues should have been the ones with the greatest number of votes, yet they are trailing at around 20.. how would you expect MG to fix them, if you are not make them understand they are the most important things needing to be fixed for this game to survive?!!

please go and add your vote now!!!

I agree that AI and comms are very important areas. To me they are much more important than small visual improvements which I rarely notice in fast moving objects. When AI units are doing smarter things that is easier to see and makes the game much better.

Good post, Adonys. Voted on all issues. Took only 30 seconds since you kindly provided the links in your post.

Although I fly almost entirely online, I recently bought & installed Disastersoft's excellent "Wick vs Dundas" campaign. Right now my AI wingmen act like total gits when I command them to attack, so hopefully 1C will take notice of these AI issues and fix 'em.

It seems that the developers have largely ignored the AI problem. I started the "AI Is At The Top Of My List" thread months ago and a lot of people here added their desire for better AI. I know Luthier and company are aware of the issue but it's not a priority for them and really should be. Honestly, I don't get it. A poll once showed the vast majority of users are SP not MP. Quality AI is essential in simulating combat in SP. No matter how gloriously the cockpits, scenery, damage, etc are modeled...if the plane I’m trying to shoot down is jerking, flopping, rolling, darting and generally behaving like a drunk, mindless robot, I'm out of the game in three minutes. I've stated before that CLOD is great for flying around and doing some sightseeing but when I want some semi-realistic dogfighting I go to ROF. I really wish the developers would spend the time testing and playing the game, flying the QM's and seeing that the AI is rubbish and FIX THE AI!

Yep, other than practicing, off-line is basically dead. Until they go through and fix things, its on-line for any competitive action.

No argument from me. Actually, what you, Adonys, and others are doing will very likely get results IMHO. BlackSix has said elsewhere here on 1C that he and the devs will only act on issues reported on the BugTracker report. That's fair enough -- and Adonys' OP certainly addresses that. Your post clearly reinforces the need for corrective action on the AI and keeps this issue front and center of the huge 1C Forum readership. The BugTracker packages the priorities quite nicely for the devs, but it doesn't have a huge readership. This 1C Forum is useful in convincing and directing us to the specific reports and getting us to vote -- which DOES get the devs' attention.

I scan the BugTracker Report irregularly (ie. when I think of it) and was surprised that I had missed the ones Adonys had linked to. This is too important an issue to ignore!

I do understand that 1c has put major effort to fixing crashes and getting FPS to good level. Those are show stopper issues. But once display performance is good enough in a modern PC and the game can be played for several hours without crashes THEN these AI problems should have high priority IMO.

come on, lads.. only 30 something from the total of 90 something votes?!!

are you really not interested in the survival of this game?

Which, once again, proves that an online platform will always generate feedback slanted towards online issues.

What he said. I'd rather have a stabile game I can fly for hours in without having to lower the settings so low that it seems that I'm flying Knights of the Sky on the Amiga again than working communications. That's my personal take on it, however, since I'm usually not really interested in what my wingmen do when I'm playing by myself anyway.
