Fellow pilot from across the pond just made me aware about this masterpiece

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHKv7rA7WSk

Let's do hope that someday in the future something along this line will be made
about Cliffs of Dover.

You don't have to speak Russian, German, Polish or for that matter English.
Everything is about one huge international mission.

Enjoy.

It is both I think. Established Squadrons have a lot "custom" insider stuff. At the end there is information about using Call of Duty:United Offensive also.

Movie is great, piece of art....

But guys from those squadrons should be banned forever for shooting down parachutes. If I will ever be fighting against Yous I prefer to die in cockpit rather eject. Total disgrace... (Your Polish Friend)

This was allowed in few online wars. Even if it wasn`t allowed, those guys did it often. Some people just take this game way too seriously.

Lack of Honor and no respect for enemy....That all it is...

It was historical mission in memory of one of the plots there right...

Interesting documentary but boy, that guy dressed up in uniform flying a sim - makes me a bit ashamed to be associated with the hobby.

I think real vets would have a real laugh seeing what is done to honour them. LOL

Why, hes having fun and not hurting anyone. All hobbies are sad... I think its cool.

Some of the squadrons have contacted the real squads and their association squadrons and been welcomed with open arms...

Kind of like Pavlovs dog but for training fighter pilots... What about that dude with a head set out of Star Trek? Is he controling the game with his mind or is it another electrocution device?

I guess You have to wait for subtitles. The "volt" guy is explaining why he is doing this, beside the movie is rather about extreme part of our community.
It is pointless to make documentary about "half an hour a day till 3rd death"
guys like most of Us.

I am Polish and can understand clearly what they are talking about. I just cant understand why the hell if they flying in the mission for someones else memorandum, they fight with no Honor and respect for opponent... I think it was brought by director to show community that there are squads like that. Disgrace...

So Be Aware

I laughed so hard at that! thanks Farber. First off, nice documentary except for the Pollacks saying "female prostitute" over and over again, unfortunately it means the same in my mothers language so it wasn't nice to hear. The somewhat stubby KGB wannabe Russian guy was pretty funny. The German dude with the "3000 man hour" 109 replica cockpit took the cake though, took the cake and ate the cake. I'm dumbfounded about that guy, worth watching it all again just to see that dude.

RE the chute shooting:

I've been to convention for AirWarrior, Aces high and IL-2 in England. We were always lucky enough to have lectures given to us by WWII veterans.

The universal response from the vets was astonished surprise that anyone remembered them at all or thought their deeds remarkable. All showed polite interest in the game, and some even became players.

In fact, the only sharp comment ever came from Chuck Yæger at an American AW con, but he always was a prickly sod.

I'll certainly never forget shooting down my squad CO of the time while Churchill's navigator, a fine and distinguished gent of ever 80 at the time yelling "strafe him! strafe him!" in my ear.

The vet's were very, very clear that it was just a game. There really is no need for pompous posturing on "honour" and the like.

Hi Seeker,

I remember those conventions very well and the veterans that came along and spoke to us.

The large size scenarios are what I really miss as I know you do. That part of the video with the massive bomber raid was very much like the one we took part in on Aces High with about 400 players and if it doesn't come across in the video I can tell anyone else that its a truly impressive sight seeing a formation like that coming your way even if it is only in a virtual world.

I have been hoping that CoD/SoW would be capable of supporting hundreds of players but if we can just achieve 128 that would make for a good encounter with 42 Heinkels/Ju88s, 48 Bf 109s and 48 Spitfires/Hurricanes. With scale effect of 8 aircraft per squadron that would be very effective.

ATAG have been getting close with up to 100 players since the patch so once the basics have been sorted out so no-one gets CTD'd it will be interesting to see how far we can go.

There's a new world waiting for some of you guys if we could just get there :)

And my wife? She patiently lets me go off to my room and play.... then calls up around 9pm that my tea is ready. I'm thinking of getting her a NAAFI overall :)
But then I do earn lots of brownie points around the house and I don't leave her to cut the grass ! Oh, and I don't have a flight suit or a cockpit........ well, not so far :)

Talking about AirWarrior, parachutes and strafing I really do miss downing enemy planes with my old 1911 .45 while hanging in the air after bailing out.
