unable to select planes in online servers

has anyone els had this issue/ BUG ???

for about 90% of the time while ONLINE, i am unable to select my aircraft.

everything goes perfect until i get tho the select plane boxes .. then i am unable to click on any of the plane boxes or anything els on that perticular menu section which leaves me to use my TAB and ENTER keys to navigate away

i sufferd with this pre patch but not as much...

i am getting frustrated, the patch is a huge step i the rite direction...
i play with max settings on my rig and have smoothe menu navigation online until i reach this part...

again its not 100% of the time. i play on ATAGs server as most of us do (hats off to those guys)

There may be a plane type restriction at each available airfields...is there a aircraft pictured

no its certainly not that..

its a definate issue... ive tried all sorts .. changing usb port about.. turning off viras/firewall software.... all sorts of configerations... im pulling my hair out lol... none of my other squad mates or freinds seem to get this BUG, i was hopeing that someone els would speak up so i knew i wasnt alone....

as i said its not all of the time, just most of the time.....

Are you able to select an airfield, and does it highlight when you choose it?...with that done you should be presented with a picture of the aircraft, and you would then press "create"...are you able to get that far?...probably you need to hold the left mouse till the airfield highlights, would be my guess:grin:

No its the aircraft selection boxes I'm having issues with after airfield selection... It's a definate bug and not me being a complete spaz lol... Yes I can create the default aircraft that's highlighted first off... But cannot choose another aircraft

What server?...maybe someone will jump in here:cool:....thats it, some servers have a limit on aircraft depending on the airfield chosen, and if they "map maker' made the plane available

Are you talking about the pop up windows when you are shown the planes that you could select for a certain airfield but you cannot click on the plane picture and hence cannot select a different plane?

I have the same issue and it is really annoying. When I join a server the first time I can select normally in the pop up window. The second time I can no longer. I have to restart the game to be able to select again.

Unfortunately nobody really knows a solution or work around and the devs seem not to care about this issue as I have reported it here on the forum many patches ago and this repeatedly.

Its a bug in the menus and is not new... You have to let all the windows load and then even sometimes your fuffed... :(

I got this bug when I was trying to configure my SLI to work with different settings/configs with nvidiainspector. Try fiddling with video settings in your video card's control panel.

Sometimes I can get it to play ball, but It's a rarity...

I think it should go to the bug tracker. Fiddling with video card setting in the hope that it may help occasionally seems not a sustainable solution (but thanks for the tipp - I will give it a try).

This is a bug that really keeps me from flying because I do not want to restart the game and reload the mission after each sortie. What do I need to put it on the bug tracker?

Have you guys ever tried clicking the "Plane" button down at the bottom of the screen and changed your plane that way?

I just opened COD. I always just double click on the plane that pops up when I join a base. but I noticed you still gotta click the text to open up the selector, so what I was envisioning in my head doesn't help. Duh/Bah. Have you guys ever tried playing around with the plane settings before trying?

Bugs are hell. The new patch wouldn't open for me until I deleted shader cache files. Come on! Ruined my whole Sunday, got it to work 10 min before I had to leave for work Monday morning.

If you try to load stuff too quick, at times the program seems to interrupt the loading process, and you lose your mouse pointer and some of the selection boxes. As mentioned by Farber, always give it time to load everything on screen before you try to change airfields/aircraft. (and let it load everything after you've clicked the airfield, before you rush to the aircraft selection).

+1 Just another bug in Clodo, remember the mouse bug when loading up IL2 1946 Fb? The one that was there for over ten years?! This is the modern version...

Yes I'm on vista 64 bit. Never had an issue with it beforehand though...

I know its a resource demanding OS.... I could upgrade to windows 7 but I'd be gutted if I still suffered with the same problem afterwards....

Guess I'll wait and see what happens after the official patch goes live

I know that it was suggested to turn Air on but IIRC it did not help me (but I will try again with the new patch when it is released as final).

Nevertheless it is a bug because other games do not have this issue and CloD should not have one either.

I've never had this problem, but know someone who has. It seems to have fixed itself after the patch though, but they're also running Vista, so maybe that is the problem?

I have win7 64 bit, its a problem for everyone... Patience is the key however sometimes it just does it anyway. Dont click anything untill the map has loaded and you are normally ok. Anyway, Ive finished wasting my breath now...

I can think of some possibilities:

- game install is corrupt - check game files integrity in Steam
- .Net install is corrupt - reinstall everything from the /redist/ folder under Steam/Il-2.

At least someone reported that it helped with menu bugs.

- check network speed also in network settings just in case. LAN setting could be too high.
- add Steam/il-2 and Documents/il-2 folders as well as launcher.exe to exclusion lists of real-time shields/monitors of your antivirus.
