Weird issue with new patch and a folder I backed up

I just installed the new beta patch, but before I did this I copied the whole parts folder and saved it on another HD because that is where the new patch installs to. I wanted to keep it incase I saw no improvements in the patch. I am still suffering low FPS on a quad core 17 930, so I decided to replace the whole folder with the original one I had. The thing is after doing this and starting the game it says I am on the new patch still when I look at the version number :confused:

go into steam and verify local game integrity.

it will automatically revert your game back to where it was (the last official patch).
