The article is dated April 2,2012.
Let us assume for a moment it is real.(or will be real)
Crossfire in the game at the moment does not work. With two discrete cards you can at least remove one. With a dual GPU(internal crossfire) you are stuck.

I'm pretty sure it was a hoax by techpowerup ;)
re: Corssfire ... that is why I'm still tossing up whether to go crossfire again (or SLI if I go with the 680). I'm patiently waiting for the next patch.

The code number under the white AMD logo and above the PCI-e fingers is different in each pic.

S!
Next patch and the following ones, as I do believe they will add more fixes later, will determine if I ever go SLI/CrossFire. Otherwise I am totally happy with the performance of a single card and with less hassle.

Here is the missing mix :

The numbers and some board are mixed.
Under some circumstances a multi-GPU system is the way to go, for example a multi-screen setup, but I don´t like the SLI/Crossfire systems because they cost twice the money, consume twice energy, have twice amount of problems but it don´t have the twice performance.

Very true however you wouldn't (or shouldn't) get a multi-GPU setup expecting the performance to increase by the number of GPU's you have. What it does or should give you (if the game code is written well), is a higher minimum level frames per second. Meaning you will reduce the number of times the game goes into a slide show.
Having said that, multi GPU setups do suffer produce micro stutters and it's something that is making me reconsider my future setup after the patch.

S!
Last time I had multi-GPU was with VoodooII and playing EAW etc. It really made a difference and worked flawlessly. Nothing like today when you see tons of threads with problems reported from both camps. I stick with single GPU for now :) Seems to work just fine with enough performance :)
