Hi i play il2 for 5 years now, with the new patch coming to clod im seriously considering buying it but o couple of things are keeping me back
1st, imposible to buy without credit card where i live.
2nd , i dont know if i can run it smooth.
this 2nd point is why i ask for help to the popular wisdom of the forums

cpu amd 1055t
mother asus m4a88t
gpu gtx 460 se 1gb
ram 4gb 1333

i dont want to bother my close credit card owners without knowing that i can actually use the product.
also i dont expect to run it with the max detail or all the eyecandy. if its smooth im satisfied
S! thanks in advance

Hi, my specs are similar, perhaps a little worse than yours:
E8400 (3GHz), GTX460 1Gb, 4gb ram.

I run only at 1280x1024 and most on medium, some high. I get usually 20-30fps, rising to about 50-60 over the sea, but there is some slowdown when effects take place. We dont know how the patch will run, but if it eliminates slowdown and stutter whilst raising FPS it should run fine on my PC, so I would say yours will be ok- you have 4 more cores than me at only a slightly slower clock speed.

It might be worth waiting for the patch to come out and see if it improves by a lot before buying it.

Thanks for the responses! they really helped , ill wait for the next patch.
im using win 7 64 bits.

my only option where i am is steam, no amazon for me :(
its not a great amount of money. but 50 dollars here are not the same that 50 dollar in the us. actually you can do a lot of things with 50 dollars. and im not fan of buying for buying (no intention to offend anyone only trying to explain POV) S!

Win 7 64-bit is the best to use with the game so that is good. If you are buying from steam, I dont know what region you are in but steam often have sales, IL2: CoD might be on sale at some point- at the moment it is £30 but I have seen it go down to £17. If you dont want to pay full price if you keep an eye on steam you might be able to get it cheaper depending on your region.

Keep an eye on some of the European sites for sales.I have seen Clod for 80% off.The last being February 29th.

While the sticky on where to buy Clod is old it probably has some names you could check.

I got it from getgamesgo.com for U$S 10, but now is back to 50.
I have a e8200, gtx260, 2gig ram, win7. Run it on low settings, some in medium, no shadows, no grass.
Is not as smooth as I would like but is flyable, at least you can get familiar with the FMs, CEM etc, gunnery, etc.
Even did some online flying
