I had my dedicated server up and running.I was playing in the game from another machine for about 1/2 hour. Then I got a timeout message on the client machine. When I went to the server machine I saw a Steam kicked server message.

I know it was a problem earlier. Is it still a problem?

Troll,

Sadly, we experience the same on the ATAG server.
Until we have dedicated server files, the only solution is to restart it over and over.

I've given up running the Nations@War server online because it only runs for anything from 5 min to 3 hrs before crashing.

To quote from the the official Ubisoft Cliffs of Dover webpage "Join a 128-player jump-in/jump-out multiplayer mode where battles can last hours, days or even weeks." (See http://il2sturmovik.ubi.com/cliffs-of-dover/en-GB/game-info/key-features/ ). This advertising has be up now for 11 months and is a false & misleading claim.

Maybe it ment jump in / jump out when we tell your server too?

Is this when the server is in active? Is it possible to set something up to keep the server "active" that it wont do this?

The problem is the servers all connect to steam the same way you do when you are playing - as a client instead of a host.

So whenever steam is performing maintenance in your area not only is the game unavailable to you, but this also disconnects the server. Virtually all other steam games connect as a host - basically streaming to an IP to have it's server info show up in steam list.

Until we have real dedicated files, steam problems will always effect the servers because of it.
