Hello guys,

I'm planning to buy myself a new GPU for running COD on a 1680x1050 screen.
My options are GTX 560 TI with 1GB or 2GB memory. This would be an easy choice since at this resolution the games I play don't require more than 1 GB of vram, however I'm not sure about COD.
Should I go with 2GB or 1GB for vram? What am I loosing if I go with only 1 GB?

P.S. the 2GB version has a higher price (+50 eur).

S!

I would go for the 2Gb version as it always helps to have VRAM, especially if using FSAA. 50 more is nothing basically, easily spent on something useless in a whim ;)

The 2Gb should help a bit in my opinion as CloD hogs up quite a bit of vRAM. I run at 1920x1200 on high settings and still get pretty good FPS with mine. But my base system is pretty solid too. So at 1680x1050 it should run really well at higher settings, assuming that the rest of your system is pretty fast. As for the 1Gb version... I have no real world experience with it, so I don't know exactly how it would perform. But i suggest the 2Gb. Why hinder yourself by not having enough vRAM?

Do not even think about 1Gb

Go straight for 2Gb.

Get a 2 GB card. CloD needs more than 1 GB on the grafics card.

Has anybody done any scientific testing regarding video memory? Like benchmarking with a 6950 with one gig of ram versus a 6950 with two gigs? r0bc's post here is the closest I've found to anybody that's actually done some testing with two cards of the same type.

This past summer I tested both 1.5GB and 3GB GTX580's with a single monitor at 1920x1080 and 2560X1440, didn't see any difference in COD.

I suggest getting the 2GB simply because more is usually better even if not for the present but for the future.

With that said I am running 1GB GTX 280M and I have no issues playing at 1680x1050 with mid 30's FPS. I have most of my setting turned to medium or off though.

Please post the link to the benchmarks for your claim above. Thanks
