Simple poll - do you play mostly online, offline or about equal?

Online 99.99% of the time.

Difficult to say: online but co-op against the AI is the order of the day for me.
I do enjoy the dogfight servers but I enjoy the teamwork and comraderie of a close knit squad more than the air-quake of random dogfights.

Almost exclusively online these days.

Once I'd finished the offline campaign and the ATAG server had gained some momentum I didn't look back.

I still do some offline FMB stuff to make videos and suchlike however.

Just doing some skirmishes offline most of the time. Not entering the online scene until some real coops get here (as in HL coop rooms featuring slots etc.).

Offline only. Still working on my key-mapping (since the day I got my new rig, Oct. 7th... )

I blame: dogs, guitars, job, life, the universe and... when I can find the time, I'm enjoying just flying around way too much. Really, just flying around. My oh my.

I didn't play that much online with Il-2 , but I could easily if I wanted to...I've played cloD since the beginning but have yet to figure out how to get online to play...

What? Really?

In the main menu click on "Multiplayer" then "Client" menu and then double click on "ATAG's Axis vs Allies" or "Repka #4: - Dogfight-1" depending on which one has a lower "Ping" in the server list.

Off line 100%. Don't have the time zone to even try online. When Europe and America are flying in the evenings I'm probably only just getting out of bed or working (maybe playing a little golf). Use to play online with my son occasionally with Il2 1946 and original series but finding the time now when it suits us both became more and more difficult. Now we both have better broadband speeds maybe we should try again, wish we had speeds to match what Europe and America have. Our broadband speeds here for me (in New Zealand) are about 2mb download 900kb upload and that is on an evening with not heavy loads. As soon school holidays start speeds drop as more users get online.

Your speeds might be adequate actually. I still find people flying ATAG although I'm in Canberra. Also, there's an Australian server now: http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=28114

About 5% offline, and 95% not at all. Clod is a complete failure in that respect. Even CFS3 offered a better single player experience.

99% of my CloD time offline so far having fun with the FMB. Once every 2 weeks I go online for an hour, just to see if there is something besides "random-fighter-vulching-another-random-fighter-pretending-to-be-the-Battle-of-Britain". ;)

I'm speaking of Flight Sims here.

I am a regualr ArmA II player, and yes the AI with mods are very good, but they don't move at 300+ MPH and in the vertical either. ArmA's aircraft AI are the worst in any game.

'46's AIs are dumb as a box of rocks, or at higher settings totally omniscient, able to detect you without seeing you and able to magically break every time you get to your weapons convergance distance.

30 % offline

Depending on the day, i had before!
Sometimes it`s just fun cruising around and enjoy the AI in getting an easy kill!
The online experience is "slightly" different! You have to be much more concentrated but because of this it`s more fun....Especially when you`re progressing in flying!
At the begining i was everybodies victim :( right know i manage to escape successful from an dogfight and the next step (hopefully) will be an victory!
Sooooo, any volunteers?

Nothing will ever compare to matching wits with a seasoned, live opponent..

Or flying with squadmates via Teamspeak, for that matter...

After twelve years of devotion, I suppose I am a lifer when it comes to this sim.. :)

It is simply a BLAST to fly.. :D

Even with worldwide filter and everything else on "doesn't matter", I hardly ever find one server or more.

I feel sorry for the offliners, as COD, AIs is simply not ready yet for primetime. It will definitely get better as the patches roll in, but it will NEVER be as good or immersive as online play. Even BOB WOV hailed to be the AI holygrail of WW2 aircombat flight sim, still needs alot of work. I don't see the AI in any sim being really good for another twenty years, as its just to complicated for todays systems to implement with playable framerates.

I enjoy offline campaign play at times, but its an empty sterile world, that can't compete with organized online missions on comms. I voted for equal online/offline, but its definitely more online, using offline mostly for practise, flying, shooting, and testing peripherals before going online.

Couldn't agree more, Chivas. As a former offliner only I highly recommend getting into multiplayer: Moving offline to online, a story and some lessons (http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=28404).
