Hi all,

I was flying last nite in the ATAG server and I found out that some filthy habits of some loosers have not changed along with the sim change from 1946 to CoD.

I'm referring to the famous "I'm gonna press the PrtScr key because I'm about to be downed" behaviour that quite a lot of folks play continuosly.

It is really annoying that when you're trying to do things right when in combat, and finally you get the chance to shoot down that bandit 1 minute ago was on your six with energy advantage thinking you'd be an easy kill, loosers start pressing the famous "PrtScrn" key in order to create lag between his PC and the server and virtually disappear from your sights doing so.

That's the reason why I think the dev team should disable the use of the PrtScrn key during online play, in order to avoid this kind of cheating. If you, loosers cannot stand being downed by someone who has done the things better than you, go play single player please.

Also, please do not confuse the actual "LAG" with the thing I'm talking about that "injects" lag artificially in the game when you press the damn key, which always happens curiously when you're on someone six in a clear shooting position. Lag is lag, and PrtScrn is PrtScr, two different things, please.

There goes my poll in order to see what people things about this particular subject, because I think something must be done regarding this once and for all.

Cheers.

I am struggling to undrestand Kebranto,

With a multi-CPU i7 @4Ghz, 12GB RAM and a 64bit OS, you have problems with PrtScr ? :0

The PrtScr cheats were years ago when we had single CPU and slow hard disks...

You are referring to PrtScr cheats in the ATAG server, do you have any solid proof about it or is it your knowledge and experience from IL2 that makes you think that the PrtScr is the cause of your misery?

Hi, you can test it yourself if you're really interested to.

Connect to any online server, get someone to get on your six, and then, you press repeatidly the print screen key of your keyboard while you are making some evasive maneuvers. After that ask the guy trying to shoot you down what he saw in his screen, or more accurately I should say, what he didn't see anymore in front of him.

Easy to test.

Also, please do not stick to my words referring to the ATAG server, this happens in any online server, not my intention to blame any server at all, this was just informative about where I was flying when someone started playing around with the print screen key while I was on his six.

It was only a few days ago that I first heard of this possibility. Would it be possible to remove this key assignment is what I am wondering as taking screenshots seems to be part of the Steam set up as well a in game.

I saw someone flash a message regards this last night on ATAG. Shortly before I was over the French coast and spotted a BF109 below me diving on a Hurricane then climbing up after his first pass putting himself directly into my gunsights. I don't know if that was the incident that the message may have mistakenly referred to.

I guess it needs testing but when you have lots of players on line all sorts of strange things occurr. I have seen this effect on just one occaision in hundreds of hours of on-line play - the majority of players seem to be pretty honest.

Can't deny or prove the OP's claim, but atleast the Steam screenshot button (F12) causes a freeze in the game that lasts about one second. I think that this would cause some induced lag too.
