Hi folks!

I am using a Phenom2 X3 @2.8 Ghz at the moment and I am thinking of upgrading the CPU to a Phenom2 X6.

Have you got any experience wheter this upgrade is worth the money? Is there a performance gain by upgrading?

Greetings!

If the clock speed remains the same there probably won't be much difference since CloD doesn't really make good use of many cores. If your clock speed becomes higher than 2.8GHz it might help you somewhat but actually I would guess a faster graphics card would help more with CloD (don't have proof...just a wild guess).

I would replace the ATI video card with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470 or 570 first and then a AMD Phenom II X4 965 through 980 if needed, it all depends on the $$$ your willing to spend.

I wouldn't spend anything until the next patch is out which promises at least a 50% increase in performance. If that's only half true I still wouldn't upgrade.

Hi folks!
Thanks for the replies. I just bought the AMD Radeon 3 Weeks ago as a substitution of my old nvidia gts 250.

Should be better, if the reports are right.

Yes, its a question of $$$ :-)

I can pretty much overclock my black edition of the phenom X3. I think I'll overthing this...

Greetings!
