Christmas is coming so why don't Luthier and gang really push the development now,get it back on a positive setting and restart a Christmas sales campaign.
Public relations and good advertising could really be a boon to them for extra sales and getting disillusioned people back in the fold.
This month and a half should/could be a bonus for all concerned.

If you can, try and wait until Intel or Nvidia/ATI release a new flagship processor/GPU. That will cause all the current "cutting edge" CPUs and Cards to drop in price. That system that you'd be buying at christmas could be a few hundred dollars cheaper if you can hold out just a little longer.

Not to sound rude and I don't think you are trying to be, but you don't think they are sitting on their hand at the moment do you?

I am not saying they are sitting on their hands doing nothing. What i am saying is that with Christmas and all the purchasing that goes on around it,it really does give them a focus point to aim for.
They missed out last year it would be stupid and poor planning to miss out on a 2nd bite at the cherry.

+1

Besides, after the new generation of NV cards is out, you will not want to buy any of today's cards - not if CoD is the game you are playing!
(the new NV core is apparently 10times more powerful than the current one).

Now the bad news They decided to postpone the originaly planned Xmas launch :(

So, sit tight on your money and wait is my 2cents...

Besides, CoD is not bad now, give the ATAG server a try, it is impressive to see what a 48Gb RAM, 6Xeon, 1Gbup/dwn server can do :)

I think a new trailer would help aswell with a sales drive.

I probably lack the marketing imagination to see what they could be doing. I think a concerted effort to advertise the game for the holidays while still being a very unpolished jewel could be detrimental. I know the game has come a long way, but has it come far enough?

Just reasonable questions. Not trying to be inflammatory. I want the game to succeed and have many people (new and old) enjoy it.

I think a significant patch which targets subjective areas would really propel this sim. The recent patch has dumbed down a lot of awesome features: the lighting, the cockpits, the brilliant terrain colours in Beta 1; and I believe that if they reverted back to older work and then pushed the graphic engine further, the sim could evolve brilliantly.
Of course, such a patch would include new, enitcing features. I guess one could call it a monster patch. If it was marketed well, as well, that would be brilliant too.

+1 to Trumper's original post.

Expect new chip prices (CPU/GPU) to go up (or at least not drop in price for a while). There is massive flooding in Thailand and the areas of Bangkok that manufacture the majority of the world's chips are either under water or are about to be underwater.

Actually it's:

-Two Intel Xeon X5690 processors (twelve physical 3.46ghz cores on QPI + hyperthreading + turbo->3.73ghz)

-48 GB registered DDR3 ECC memory

-10gbps upload/download all fiber network

FS~Phat - eat your heart out

Once we get dedicated server files, expect 3 or more servers running at the same time from us :)

Seeing the track of record so far I doubt they can deliver polished product before Christmas. They may be able to polish to 46 level, but that's still a turd to the masses.

They maybe able to win back some hardcores though. I am personally waiting for the new gfx engine.
