Me too, but the link you gave is for a flight with a Spitfire. You are in a helicopter alongside it.

What you want is this ... http://www.boultbeeflightacademy.co.uk/aircraft/spitfire/ ... and a spare few thousand £/$

Dunno, but imho the heli Experience is the closest most will ever come to a Spitfire in flight.
Apart from the Top Gear flight..have you seen the McGregor brothers? From the humble Tigermoth -> Harvard-> the Spit....

Great! Now I hate the Top Gear "twat-trio" even more.

The first thing that came in my mind by seeing the footage on TV:
crap why?...wow.. 3 two-seaters in formation?

Didn't know there were that many operational.

So why is it possible to fly with a P-51 in the Netehrlands and not with a Spitfire trainer if it comes over to the netherlands (legal issue right?).

One of this Spitfire is from Holland the two other I do not know and this is a cut out sequence from a Top Gear the 3 from Top Gear against 3 Germans counter parts and in they arrive in this Spitfires when the Germans arrive in cars. It is the only interesting part of the show. In the "do not mention the war" spirit.

Oh I surely hoped we in the Netherlands would get one two seater :) Sadly the two-seaters are based in the UK and Ireland, and these are only painted as the rNlAf H.xx (at one time H99 and 98 were painted). There's only one Spitfire still flying over here. Earlier this year it had to make an emergency landing at Woensdrecht after engine trouble. Not sure of the current status.

3W17 was flying at the Luchtmachtdagen last year.

Quite interested to see the colours of the landscape from reasonably low altitude. The UV colour is a noticeable Blue across the landscape to the horizon, of-course there were no Rape-seed oil fields in WW2 but as a general view of the landscape colour it makes you wonder about the CloD colours?

Due work I couldn't be at Leeuwarden this year. Haven't seen 3W17 on the live stream though? Also no pictures found of her in topics from the Leeuwarden airshow 2011. Anyone?

The BBMF Spitfire was @Leeuwarden for the new squadron building on sept 2nd. The BBMF Dakota was @Eindhoven on sept 16-17 for Market Garden, probably did visited lwd? The BBMF Spit/Hurricane combination wasn't @ Eindhoven as planned on sept 16/17, also can't find other data about those arriving at the airshow.
