I'm hunting for a new video card (GeForce). I am looking in the range of 250-350 dollars.
I have looked at the GeForce GTX 550 Ti Super clocked, the 579 as well.
Best bang for the buck is what I am looking for. My sig states what I have currently, 2 x GeForce GTS 250, not a bad card/s but I am looking for more power. Essentially, I am looking for a card to run CLoD on high setting with minimal FPS hit. I currently get 25 on the deck and 50-60 at 20k alt, with med sets except for Model, Visual Effects and Damage Decals on high. I have experimented with all different setting but really can't drag much more out without losing visual quality.
I know the 580 and new 590 can run this game like a dream, but are there any cards that can offer high settings and still give good performance?
Thanks for any advice.

lobisomem, what voltage, core clock, shader clock, memory clock speeds are you running, I've tried to get my clock speeds up but it's not stable with clod.
gtx 560 ti is a nice card for IL2:grin:

How about the Geforce GTX 550 Ti 2GB DDR5.
Its clock speeds are:
Core Clock:900 MHz Memory Clock:4008 MHz Shader Clock:1800 MHz. Requires 400watt ps.
I would like to know if anyone is using this card and at what setting they are playing on. I do believe I would be able to attain high setting with this card and still ahve good FPS and smooth game play.

In the meanwhile you can also compare against each other  :

GTX 550 in the link you've posted is only:
Memory Interface: 192-bit
Stream Processors: 192
That's gonna hurt a bit I believe .

Personally I wouldn't go for a 550, they're a little closer to budget than I'm comfortable with. The 560Ti on the other hand is a very capable card, and I certainly have no issues with my GTX570. Comparable AMD cards are also availible for good prices. I've seen 6970s for ~$225 on Amazon before, and those are just as good as my 570, if not better in some cases due to the amount of VRAM. The 6950 isn't anything to sneeze at either and none of these cards should be more than 350.

Actually, my current cuda cores are 128 in my GTS 250, so its still an improvement. Even the clock, core and shader speeds are quite a bit higher than my current card/s. But the 570 is indeed looking promising, not too bad a price $250-300, I can live with that.
Thanks gents

Voltage: 1075
Core/Shader: 950/1900
Memory: 2300
Stable in CloD. MSI card.
