Well now that everything is running quiet well online, I was wondering if there might be any Aussie squads that I can apply to join? I miss the days of online play, with squad mates, talking over teamspeak or the like. :-)

Hey banned

Yeah for sure mate - RAAF are always recruiting, or just happy to hook up for online play whenever.

Our website is below in my sig, with our forums at:

http://www.raafsquad.com/msgbrd/

we play on the ATAG server, - they are a great group of lads and I know they have several aussie members as well.

Likewise there is a group called RAF who also have a few members playing CloD - also on the ATAG server.

ATAGs teamspeak 3 is: 216.52.148.29

See you on there!

Recon.

Codex,

Another plug for the RAAF_Squad that Recon mentioned. Although we identify as a South Pacific P40 Aussie Sqn we don't always fly that theatre or as allies. Any theatre is fair game during our squad nights and more often than not we fly inter-squad matches. So you get a chance to fly both sides.

Currently Tues is our "Cliffs" evening, nominally from 2030hrs, although some members report in earlier. As Recon mentioned, the ATAG server and the ATAG TS. Thanks to the kind folks at ATAG we have our own TS directories. Download TeamSpeak3 (TS). Goto Multiplayer, Client, select the ATAG Hyperlobby and say hello!

If you particularly want an axis flavour I understand that JG53 http://www.iijg53.com/
have an oceania squadron.

I'm definitely looking for more axis flying than allied, but happy to fly both.

Thanks for the info mate!

Thanks Recon. I've signed up with RAAF and now just waiting for Admin to approve. Can't wait to be part of the squad. Looking forward to flying with others again using comms.

Nice work Banned - look forward to flying with you.

my steam ID is _RAAF_Recon, feel free to add me as a friend on steam so you can see when I'm online - we can then hook up for a sortie or two.

RAAF also have a steam group so you can see when other members of the squad are online too. Gotta love steam. ;)

I'd love to join later as well .. after I get a handle on single player , campaigns and stop getting shot down by AI planes ..

BTW, where do you get Server 1.04? I seem to have 1.02

Hey HE111.

How does your system run CloD?

Good, once I run in windows mode. I still need a proper monitor but the system isn't the problem, it's the user that needs practice and learning how to ClOD

Just thought I'd chime in here and drop a link to our humble Squadron's webpage: No. 457 Squadron vRAAF (http://www.no457.com)

We fly allied aircraft, preferably single-engine Commonwealth types. The squadron was formed in the year 2000 and we have flown sims such as European Air War, IL-2 Sturmovik, IL-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles, IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946 and we are currently transitioning to IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover.

We have participated in large-scale online campaigns/wars across the IL-2 series and EAW - and this remains the squad focus for training. We aren't your average gung-ho squadron that focuses on the thrill of the kill (although it certainly is a plus!), instead we focus on flying & navigating the aircraft and staying alive in combat.

Our numbers have dwindled over the years due a number of reasons. Currently there are 3 active pilots (including myself) and 5 reserve pilots. At the moment we are looking for intermediate/experienced pilots that would be able to help foster new recruits and serve as a backbone of experienced pilots to the squadron. If you are interested, please register on our forums (http://www.no457.com/forums/index.php) and drop a post in "The Bar" :)
