Hello all.
With the recent beta patches I have really begun to enjoy CoD, to the point that it has replaced IL2 in my gaming time (lord knows I NEVER thought I would say that, but hey the game rocks, even with a few bugs...)

There is only one fly in the ointment- EVERY SINGLE TIME I play on one of the larger servers (specifically ATAG) I get a crash to desktop.
Sometimes I can hit the windows key or alt+tab back to desktop and find the game still running in the taskbar, select it and be on my merry way. Even so the game WILL eventually crash and I have to activate task manager to kill it.

But I do not have this problem playing offline, I can go for hours there skinning and messing around.
Also does not seem to be a problem with our own group servers that our Geschwader Adjutant will host (II/JG53 test).

Most of the pilots in our group that fly online have run into the same problem at some point.

I have had this problem with three different sets of Nvidia drivers (280.XX/285.27/285.38 off the top of my head) and a fresh install of the stock game with latest patch (1.04+hotfix).

System:
i7 2600K @ 4.4ghz
GTX 580SC 1.5gb
8 gigs RAM
Win 7 64bit
on a 25" Asus monitor at 1920x1080.

Ive sent my crash files off to the dev's as requested. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I should add that otherwise the game runs absolutely flawlessly. I average about 55fps at all times, capped at 60 with vsync of course. All settings are high with original textures. Really runs slick like buttered glass and then will just stop dead in it s tracks.

Yeah, last night on TS I heard ppl reporting CTDs....I didnt experience that...game is smooth but when more planes are around me (sometimes) it gets very slow...same when Im ditching. Hope this will be fixed soon. And that well get working AA at distance.

same prob. here..:-/
everything running great until I enter a "flak-area" or on close 6 of a smoking plane..
fps drops down to about non flyable and then sometimes CTD via esc.
Experimented with diff. settings..but "no joy".
already sent mb of crash dump files to 1c..but most crashes end up with a 0kb cdf.

I've also had trouble with crashes and small to large screen freezes. The most frustrating thing is it happens in combat after flying for half an hour looking for an opponent. I haven't tried turning down my settings yet, but it's only a online problem for me.

Hi,

I had some crashes too...
I found that is related with Windows Virtual Memory. Think the game is overloading RAM and I disabled VM for better performance.
I'm at work now, late I'll try to enable VM again to fix that...
