I'm just starting out with CoD, and have version 1.02.14821. I have already found BETA Patch v 1.03.15527. Can I install this patch, or do I need any other first? Or is it already out of date?

you can install any beta version you wan't that is released after
version 1.02.14821
however
i recommend to test the latest one

Yes, just can just install it over the retail version. There is a hotfix for that beta patch as well, which you should probably install on top. The link for the hotfix is in Luthiers thread for the beta patch.
