View Full Version : Lets compare Beta v 1.03.15527 to v15866

All right, lets get those results up. Please run the Black-death track and start the fps counter to show average FPS (pause the game, hit ALT + F5 to get console up, then enter: fps START SHOW, unpause). Watch the whole track and then post your results with your rig info and in-game settings :)

My Settings and FPS and my rig, with BETA patch v.1.03.15527 :

Would love to compare, but i cant run the Black death Trk now it locks up. Never had this problem before. :(

Mmm that's interesting, I'm still downloading the patch, first thing I will do is try to run Black Death.

Hi. Ok, light looks better but after patch game very often crasch (freez screen). FPS like before. My spec. Q6600 3.0 GHz, 4gb RAM, GF 9600gt, Win 7 64bit. Stil nothing chenge with performance :-(

Yes I'm running the new Beta patch now, but it locks up when the first bomb hits the Hurricane on the ground, 3 times in a row now.
FPS seem to be the same. I like the colours, but I do not prefer them over the previous ones per se.

Ditto on all counts. Locks up as the bomb explodes on the runway as the Hurri is taking off.

What do you type in again to get the frame rate?

fps START SHOW, not that you need it the game dies on any explosion.

No performance improvements for me over last beta but not sure if they were optimising since the last patch. No crashes as yet though.

I was hoping they'd tone down the sun glare effect as I need a fire extinguisher to put my retina out now! I also feel there's still too much haze.

I just set up a dogfight and was flying a 109E3. I managed to get behind a Hurricane and blow his aileron off with a cannon shot. He proceeded to outmaneuvre me in every way possible and escaped by out rolling, diving, and turning me! AI/flight/damage models still borked so back on the shelf for me until they address this.

I'll fly around for another hour or so and report anything out of the ordinary.

EDIT:- I was running at around 35-45fps at 2560x1440 res but it was fairly smooth. with the new patch it seems capped at 35fps. Just out of curiosity I changed res to 1920x1080...the result - still 35fps with or without V sync.

Well I put it into the first line for people like you who don't know how to do that, thanks for reading.

Other then that, playing SP just over the channel doing some manoeuvres is really fluent and an average of 38 FPS, no stutters/spikes. I have to revise my opinion on the colours, I Prefer them over the older ones, especially the colour of the sea is now really good. New sounds are awesome, I can my airframe crying as I abuse her:-P

Yes and no, the graphics are yet again improved, and I believe somewhat smoother as well, but it locks up when a bomb hits the ground, not the sea, just the ground. So no bombing, which is a shame, I just got all 32 of my bombs from 4000 meters straight onto the English radars, until some exploded and the game locked up. ( Thanks Luthier for improved level bombing, much appreciated! )

they exaggerated with contrast....maybe somthing between old and new approach would be best....shimmerig is worse now....and AA is still not working...

I could live with that, they are a bit too dark when the sun isn't shining on the instruments, and they become really hard to read, especially Ju-88.

Thanks to Ataros, I set the effects detail to low, which gets rid of explosions and other effects, and therefore gets rid of the lock-ups.

I ran the Black Death track and I have an Average FPS now of 34

Of course this isn't a 'fair' comparison, because I dumbed down the graphics settings. I think I would've gained 2 fps in comparison with the old beta patch if the effects could remain on High.

Yes that's what I said, I was referring to the old patch, which this thread is aimed at. If I could run the track with visuals on HIGH, then I think I would have a 2 fps gain, because overall it runs a bit smoother :)

All settings on Very High, 8xAA, epi off, ssao and v-sync on.

V-sync off increased max to 82 from 80, but average stayed same at 30.

Applied Hot-fix patch, did the Black Death track again with Visual effects on HIGH.

Avg FPS = 31

Performace increase with 1 frame per second, certainly did not decrease, not so much spikes.

New official patch:

Average FPS = 28

that's 3 FPS less then Beta2 :(

I did clear out the cache and removed the Ubi logo again :(
