To forum admins: please make this thread sticky, and unstuck all the old luthier's threads (as the links to them can be found in here), in order to clear up a little the burdened stickers part of the main forum.

PS: Look at the charts, and you can see the approximate date for the start of the project (which is 6 december 2007), which periods were dedicated mostly to development (1,6-7,9-13) and which to intense bugfixing (3,8, 14-15 and 17) and lots of other interesting things too..

How is it not useful?

It gives links to announcements and and patches etc very useful and we can look back at what patches fixed.. a very useful timeline.

My logic is that the current forum is already blistering with stickies that often don't serve a purpose anymore and it makes the forum index hard to read.

Those announcements and news listed here are not new anymore though. If you follow that logic you'd have to include all the news etc. even before release, just for those who really want to crawl through the historic events...

Aside from that this topic seems to be written in a semi-provocative form, with the date of the days since being written bold and so big. Instead of editing these dates daily someone with an honest intent would surely rather include the past announcements as well instead...

And if those old announcements are so important why not just request an announcement forum and dump all the developer threads etc in there? The mods could surely do that if it were necessary.

That said I guess if the provocative undertone of the opening post would be edited out I'd say it's a fine collection but I still wouldn't want another sticky. Sorry ;)

Tell you what, let's find some middle ground so that we can use the resources without anyone feeling provoked:

Keep the dates and the current format, get rid of the big bold day-by-day counter numbers (after all, we can easily see how long it takes between updates just by having the dates they were posted), edit out all posts below the starting one (or let me do it for you guys), then i'll sticky it and "unstick" all previous update/patch threads except the latest one.

King Solomon kind of solution and all that jazz :-P
