Ok, I love playing COD on max, my 2 x 580s in SLI seem to handle the game without shutters etc .. BUT I'm getting random CTDs (then recovery but black screen), quite frequently now. I currently have Nvidia 280.26 drivers.

Does anyone have 580s with stable play? if so what drivers are you using?

Thanks

I was using the same drivers on my 580, and didn't have any issues.
Now I'm using the beta 285 drivers. Smooth.

Are you sure there's nothing to see with your PSU ?? Your rig is very demanding with a 580 Sli...

Yeah I get random CTD's and I'm using older drivers,so I'm not sure it's a driver problem, more like a COD problem, hence the thread regarding posting crash dump files to the devs.

I'm using this driver with a 560 Ti and have no ctd at the moment.

I think I've worked it out, playing stock-standard campaigns work beautifully, it's the campaigns I create in the FMB that's crashing. i'll need to test this further ..

I've been having this with a GTX570. Tried a fresh install of driver, older drivers and about a thousand CoD tweaks.

The only solution I can find is to alter the DX render in the config from '10_0' to '10_1'. I think what this really does is force the game to run in DX 9 (?) so you get slower performance, strange lines in the sea etc.

I'm on an 850W PS so no issue there, temps are good across the board and the other sims I have run great. Conclusion is its a CoD issue so its on the shelf for now, I've got fed up with fiddling rather than flying.

I've pinned it down to the FMB, have to be careful when creating campaigns, always saving in a new name and if one is corrupt, go back to previous one.

I have a vague memory this bug is verrrryyyy old, going back to the original FB! :(

Not for me.

I cannot get the low level bomber attack mission in the quick missions to run for love or money unless I change the value. Freeze, black screen and out. Same for the Heinkel intercept quick mission.

I just played the Intercept low level bombers (Hurricanes attacking Dorniers) without problems.

Have you checked your HDD and done a TuneUp on your system ? I have my graphics set on Max with 1X AA, if that helps?

Checked and checked again. I must have about five hours of fiddling around with this problem. I do know it affect some people and not others.

My specs are i5 2500, GTX570, 16Gb DDR3 1333, 850W PSU running Win7 64. I don't overclock so nothing to do there. Its one of those things some people are struggling with and others not. Got to love new complex sims haven't you !

Try windowed mode, i've found full screen very unstable.
