For all those in the UK, tonight at 9 on BBC2 is The Spitfire- 75th Birthday. Description as follows:
"Passionate flying enthusiast and broadcaster John Sergeant celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Spitfire with a TV love letter to this most British triumph of design and endeavour. The film follows the story of a Spitfire from birth to retirement and tells the stories of ordinary people with extraordinary tales."

The Spitfire was the best pure dog fighter in WWII.Listening to all the old Spitfire pilots tell about their adventures is truly enjoyable. Thanks to the Brits, putting a Merlin engine in the Pony made it the best escort plane of WWII.I flew the Spit 9 in Aces High a lot.The Spit 16 was just too easy,no challenge there,as they were way over modeled.

The Spitfire was the best pure dog fighter in WWII. The Russians might have something to say about that lol. Anyway I will certainly be watching this, thanks for the reminder Gilly.
