Awesome video. Thanks for posting.
The one that came in to land at about 1:50 appears to be a two-seater. Converted for a second rider or a training variant? Don't believe I've ever seen a two-seat Spitfire.

Would have been a blast to see them in the flesh.

Yup your right, it was a 2 seater Spitfire. The "gracie" Spitfire if i'm correct, someone may have to verify that.
Over here in the UK we have 3 two seater Spitfires, possibly 4. Getting to fly in one though....
Not going to happen. Only tv shows get to go in them, due to insurance costs etc its just far to expensive and not going to happen.
Or to put it a better way -
In the UK it would appear some people are tight bastards.

LOL
There are several airfields and organizations around the US that offer rides in old Warbirds. For the most part they use trainers like the T-6 or similar, but I know of an outfit out of Dallas, Texas, that sales seats on B-25 flights. The same place is supposed to offer P-51 Mustang rides pretty soon. The cost? A cool $2,000 per 20 minutes.

Up here near seattle you can get in "Grumpy" a B-25 that was restored at Duxford then flew back for $450.

Wow that is a total rip off. We have wealthy farming family here in country Victoria (Australia) and the old man of the farm has a private collection of fighter planes in a massive shed, all of which fly. He offers joy flights in his P51D for about $650 for 30 mins flight time.
About two years ago it had landing gear failure and the 80 year old passenger not only got a joy flight but a perfect belly landing for his troubles. It can be found on youtube.
We also have a pair of CHinese WWII fighter trainers here in Adelaide that do 30 min flights for about $450. Not quite a P51 but still pretty cool.

Yeah I think two grand is a bit much. I would imagine a big chunk of it is for insurance. I'm guessing the Australian gentleman doesn't worry too much about that side of it.

a lot of is has to do with insurance like you said. they have lifted a lot of restrictions at airshows. before exibitors werent allowed to give rides without jumping through a lot of hoops. i was asking around at the gathering of mustangs and legends in 08 and was hitting a brick wall. as for the aussie gent....if he owns that many fighter ac he really isnt concerned about where the gas money is coming from.
