Hey all,
New video up! - I hope you will like it.

Being at the receiving end of a bombardment by Wellingtons is not pleasant I can tell you! - However, this day it wouldn't be enemy planes that proved the biggest danger for me...

I have my holidays coming up, so there will be a break of maybe 1 or 1½ month in my videos. I'm sure that won't keep you sleepless at night... ;)

I look forward to making new videos again after that. Who knows, we might have the big new mega-patch of the sim by then, with new sound and a lot of other goodies. I look forward to seeing what happens and also to making movies with some new planes. There are three flyables I haven't even tried yet! - Anyone knows which they are? :)

Thanks for checking out my vids (60,000 views!). Please tell others about them, if you feel the movies are worth it! - I do these because of the feedback I get, so it is always nice if you spread the word...

Enjoy this one, and as always, comments very welcome!

Cheers,
Freycinet

Since your videos aren't "edited" it gives the viewer a better impression of what the game is actually like. And I think the more people that watch your videos, the better they will understand what they are buying. Unlike some videos that have after-effects, filters etc etc that look very cool and awesome, but doesn't portray the actual gameplay to the viewer.

Thanks for sharing and have a nice holiday!

Hey Strike,

Thanks for your holiday wishes!

Well, I could go on and on about how I strive for authenticity and believe in the "dogme" principle of movie making (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dogme_95) and yadda yadda yadda, but the actual truth is that I wouldn't know how to do all that clever editing even if I tried! :D

I'm glad you like the rough 'n ready look of my movies, and you're right: they certainly show exactly how it is to fly a mission. That's why I always want to have the take-off and landing in my vids (when I actually get so far as to land properly!)

Technical commentary: These videos are captured while I play the missions and directly uploaded to youtube, no editing whatsoever (it shows!). After that I add the annotations in youtube...

Cheers!

If you haven't noticed there's dedicated video thread (http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=19455&page=108). Just saying...

I know and I put a link in that thread... - But I prefer having my own thread as well.

Maybe we don't all look in there first :).Give this a week and then add it in there but the video forum is full of non video posts so sorting through to see any new video is not always easy.
Thanks for posting "ingame" footage,i will see what the new patch is like then make a decision on buying but your videos are a good selling point.

Hey Frey!
Thanks!

What you use for headmovement? Mouse? TrackIR? POV button?

Freycinet

TrackIR, which works super-well in CoD. I couldn't go back to flying any sim without it.

You got soo smooth movements and how do you work that zoom?
I want your TIR profile.

I just use a run-of-the-mill profile with a little bit of deadzone (I think). But I try to keep a bit more smooth than I otherwise would when I do a video. Don't want to cause epileptical attacks in people... :)

Ah, you're the first to notice my zooming in this movie! - Yup, that is indeed new.

I set-up the arrow up and arrow down keys - zooming in and zooming out - and they work when I hold down a button on my joystick. Works more or less ok, but not half as good as in Il-2 Classic and RoF, where I could just set a joystick button to zoom out and another to zoom in.

Just a quick comment to say love your videos. Enjoy your humourous interjections - brilliant.
I, as of yet can only play Cod on low settings as my graphics card is only Nvidia GTX 9800+ :( but I will upgrade as soon as next patch comes out. So it is especially enjoyable to see some good action with high detail settings.
Keep em coming Freycinet

hunterwulf, thanks for your comments and good luck on your upgrade! - also thanks to all the others commenting... - Tho I'm a bit disappointed no-one has identified which planes I haven't flown yet! ;)

Thanks for the nice video Freycinet, I enjoyed it.

Quick question...because the 109 has flapperons?...drooping ailerons when you depoly the flaps, did you experience any handling problems when the single remaining aileron drooped on landing?

Thanks

- No, to be honest I didn't notice any problems. The roll rate seemed a bit diminished, but not much. When you try to land a wingshot bird you aren't really in analytical test pilot mode, you just want to get it down, so I can easily have overlooked something!

I did notice the flaperons in earlier flights and I think it is quite cool that they are present and functioning in the sim. Never noticed the leading-edge slats pop out, though! - but it seems others saw them... - I always try to keep the 109 pretty fast anyway...
