One of The Few and a true hero of Britain and the Free World. Amazing how the fatigue and strain have aged this 22-year-old Squadron Leader's face. Very humbling to think of his achievements and responsibilities at such a young age, and what a contrast to the rioting young thugs of late!

I have his book "Spitfire!" on order and very much look forward to reading it.

Amazing, that the powers-that-be are finally recognizing these men and women who paid the highest price...

I don't mean those doing the honouring, I mean the bureaucratic, paper-pushers who sign off on the permission slip... There are thousands of these stories that need to be heard...

They should have made a statue from that photo, I don't think there's a more fitting image of a British pilot.
