Trouble running this game, I have been all over this site looking for advise to fix my Frame rate problem. I have tried various ideas that members have sugested but still nothing seems to work.

I am also getting a white box about 3x3 inches in the top left corner in the screen that will not go away. when I am in a mission, I have turned the graphic down to low on everything and still very choppy game play. almost unplayable. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Here are my computer specs. I just built the system two weeks ago

I7-990 extreme 3.46 ghz
Asus Rampage 3 extreme motherboard
Corsair 16gb ram 1600mhz
Dual sapphire HD 6970 cards in Crossfire. driver 11.7
Windows 7 64
1920x1200 monitor

For starters, try disabling crossfire mode. The game is very hit and miss with crossfire right now.

The gray window is probably a blank info window you created by accident.

Info windows are overlays that are part of the interface and you can display a variety of stuff on them: your engine control sliders, the radio chatter, the blue text about secondary aircraft systems, the server/chat text box, all of these are info windows.

To disable it:

1) Check to see if you have a mouse cursor on screen. Default key to toggle the mouse between view control and cursor modes is F10, so go ahead and press it if you don't see a cursor.

2) Alt-click on the gray rectangle to select it. This is done to differentiate from clicking on cockpit switches, to prevent from accidentally selecting info windows when you want to manipulate cockpit controls they made it so the info windows require an extra key to be pressed (in this case Alt).

3) With the rectangle now selected, right-click on it (no keys this time, just right-click) to invoke the pop-up menu. Choose the option to close it and you're done.

Hope it helps ;-)

Perhaps you can give us an idea of what sort of framerates you're getting? Try running the Black Death track and report back on framerates. It kind of helps to get an idea of where you're at, performance-wise. Post your graphical settings as well.

Have you disabled SSAO? (Tends to impact quite a bit on performance on some machines.)

Did you disable the UBIsoft intro movie?
