hi all,
i just have one question. to make a dedicated server for CLOD. is it like il2 or is it necessary to have a unique licence key and an steam count to make the dedicated server?
i mean if you want to make the dedicated server for your squad and play with them do you need to pay two times the game?

I'm not the best person to answer this as I just went out and bought another copy of the game to do it, but I'm pretty sure you don't have to. Of course, we've also been told that dedicated server files are supposed to be released sometime in the future as well.
Let's hope that's sooner than later.
There is no dedicated server right now as has been mentioned. Best to wait as online play is mostly dead.

Targ,
I don't know why it's been soo low the last couple of days, but I can assure you I've regularly seen 70+ people online. Just wait till tomorrow night me thinks!
Lets hope things pick up, but a dedicated server is going to have to come out hopefuly sooner that later.

???
Dedicated server is a host PC that doesn't "join" the game, it just hosts. This gets rid of having to display graphics/sounds/etc, so it's easier to to host.
Syndicate is a dedicated server, Repka are dedicated servers, etc, the feature is already in the game.
Just open your launcher.exe properties and add "-server" or something like that in the launch parameters (can also be done through Steam i think) and it runs in dedicated mode.
I think people get confused by the definition: there's not yet a free standalone version of it, but the one that comes bundled with the game is still very much dedicated.

You can run server without purchasing a second copy of the game since its launch in March.
If you want to run server on a separate PC you can install Steam on that PC and register new Steam account. You do not have to purchase any game to this account, it can be completely empty.
To patch the server you would need to log off from your empty account and login with your paid account to the server. When patching is complete you do not need your paid account on the server any more till next patch is out.
here are directions
