For those how say tracers don't look like the ones in the film :).
Here is a video footage where u can clearly see how tracers are seen when camera shakes. This is an airsoft night game with tracer bbs. hope u guys like it.

Already posted and made fun of...

Airsoft can't compare to real bullets, muzzle velocity is way too low.

as I said simulation. this is new video. and there is camera shake.

Wtf is airsoft? is it like an American thing? Is it basically skirmish with more bullets?

Airsoft is basically a bunch of Tacticool noobs who run around with guns that shoot plastic pellets, pretending to be SWAT teams.

First of all, you can't compare a camera mounted on a gun or a plane with what your eyes see

Keep yer shyte opinions to yourself as i take part in some Airsoft events..and im no 'tactical noob pretending to be part of a swat team'

What a bunch of sH*t to come out with something like that..

Sry dude but in the UK we dont have a relaxed gun law where we can easily obtain and own a firearm so this is as close as it gets..

pathectic, and if you dont enjoy things like paintball which is close to airsoft but without 'replica' firearm models and doing that outdoors then you need to get out more

You know, I'm not into guns, but I live in the US...
The good guys and the bad run with them... It's a fact of life here... It's the way of the world, more so than ever before... I don't like them, but if anyone were to threaten me or my family, hell yer!
Knowing how to handle a gun is just a necessary evil, to combat evil!

Sad though...

speaking of military I see some documentary that some sas teams train with airsoft guns so do the american special forces. they even have their brand supplier called systema.
everyone can't be swat or whatever specialists they what. but it is cheap way to experience it while living ur everyday life.

sure, but you can see what would be if it is guncam of a plane. just imagine don't need to see it by your eyes;)

sorry I don't get what u mean. it is kind of off topic. I don't mean to show it from airsoft view.

You train with the gear that you use in the field, and airsoft guns aren't as loud, aren't as heavy and don't have nearly as much recoil as real weapons. Not to mention the muzzle velocities are way lower.

General dynamics makes what is called Simunition, a variety of different rounds that can be fired through real weapons. My military friends say they use this when they train; I'd be willing to bet that most other armed forces use similar products.

believe it or not. I saw it my own eyes on some sas documentary. yes u'r right. it doesn't have that recoil and not that loud. other part are just same. same operation u need same handling. and weight is same depending of which brand replica is used. not even weapon specialist can't distinguish when they have it on their hand until they pull the trigger. most training is just honing their skill like reload and other stuffs and tactics, teamwork. Sure they use other training gears. I think they use all of them.

Airsoft is played by "tacticool noobs" in the same way arma is...

It is effectively a step up from milsims, and as such is VERY fun.

I have a rifle and have tracer rounds, i can CONFIRM that there is NEVER any tracer "wiggle". If you really are so strongly opinionated towards tracer wiggle, go to a shooting range at dusk and ask to see some tracer shots, the one near me often has night shoots.

Erm, no.

It's like you're trying to explain how a firefly works using a lightbulb: they might look similar, but it's not the same thing.

that's the point. I didn't mean same but similar. just see the difference btw camera mounted bb tracer and other tracer that shot by other people. if u see the difference then u can imagine the difference by pilot guncam tracer and pilot see the tracer by their own eyes.

I think he's trying to say what was pointed out in the other thread, time and time again.... some people see guncam footage and think that's how it is to the naked eye - guncam footage jerks around a bit.

?

+100 to that.

I live in a basement, and I pretend to be a WW2 pilot (because there's no way I can afford to do the real thing) And I'm a nerd

Back on topic, the only people I'm ever going to trust to give any kind of valid opinion on what tracers should look like for THIS sim, is someone who's regularly fired tracer rounds, at another aircraft, whilst flying at 300kph+ (specifically between the months of July and October in 1940...over the Channel) ;-)

Or someone who's sat in an aircraft having tracers rounds pummled at them at over 300kph+ :)

Agreed. Even then the few that are still alive probably didn't spend much time evaluating what their tracers looked like.

True, probably heads down in the cockpit, wondering where they're fresh pair of pants were. :)

The velocity is much slower, but the effect in the movie gives a very good impression of what tracers really look like.
