Ive been offered a CH Joystick and PRO throttle, even though they are Old they work very well and i think they suit a ww2 sim tbh as opposed to a warthog or x52 etc
my only issue is its got an old game interface connector as the last time it was used was with XP and from what i have read will not work with Windows7 64 even with a USB adapter, something to do with only a few functions working..does anyone have any ideas or advice on this please?
I want them as they are really cheap but obvioulsy if im going to come across problems its not worth even entertaining

Looking at google I think you might struggle to get them working. From a quick search:

Well I use the USB version fighterstick and pedals. They are as good now as the day I bought them about 4 years ago, so that might be a consideration.
I don't think I will ever have to buy another joystick, so it will work out cheaper in the long run.

+1 i can only confirm this!
i dont have the pedals yet, but i will definitely buy them soon.
as for the fighterstick, its really recommendable.
i'm also confident that i wont need another stick any time soon.

You'll need either a game card adaptor, sound card or motherboard support for a game port interface. Unless you get a dedicated game card adaptor you'll probably be using CPU cycles to poll the joystick which in older slower machines gave a hit on frame rates.
You could buy a USB joystick adaptor but they generally have issues for joysticks with lots of buttons and sliders.
You might be able to buy something like the bodnar interface and replace the electronics. My Thrustmaster rudder pedals works well with my Bodnar interface. The newer ons don't need the matrix board but are more expensive!
Cheers!

Cheers lads..
That all seems a bit too much hassle...My Gigabyte MOBO doesnt support game ports either..
Ive looked into the USB ones but its funds..I can get the Pro for £100 or there about and if i et 2 years out of it il be happy..
Although i have to say my Cyborg X which is Saitek too is rubbish now..only had it 6 months and it spikes all over the place..touch the stick forward and it spikes to the left too, its crap tbh
So it doesnt bode well with Saitek..maybe i should stay clear

The CH products are expensive in that you are purchasing 3 units at the same time. But you can also purchase one at a time as funds become available. I have had my Fighterstick, Pro Throttle and Pro Pedals now for over 5 years with no issues or problems. They are a fantastic product with great support.

If you plan use in Windows7/64 bits - no choice.
This OS version dont support gameport anymore.
USB/Gameport work partially - as stated in Flightsim link, basically axis and 4/6 buttons.
If you are adept to DIY you cam rewire (internally) to USB with BU0836 USB card.

Do it! There's enough help around to get you going even if you aren't familiar with electronics.

For some reason L.Bodnar stop to respond mails at some years.
But sales work OK. I buy a BU0836 last Sunday and get information
that item are sent.
Just now I click in BU0836X BUY and shopping cart process normally - no message about out of stock.
